592 Att a Court held for Kent County att the Plantacon of Simon Wilmer in said County y.e 25.th day of August In the Eighth Yeare of the reigne of King William y.e 3.d Annoq Dom 1696
The Court being sett Capt Edward Sweatnam high sheerif of this County prefers to this Court a New Comitcon which is as Followeth William the Third by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c.a to William Frisby John Hynson Hance Hanson Thomas Smith James Smith John Hawkins John Whitington and Phillip Hopkins of Kent County Gent Greeting Know Yee that for ^We^ the great trust and confidence we have in Your Fidelities Circumspeccent prudences and Wisdomes have constituted ordained and appointed and by these presents doe constitute ordaine & appoint You the said William Frisby John Hinson Hance Hanson Thomas Smith James Smith John Hawkins John Whittington and Phillip Hopkins Comicon.rs Joyntly and severally to Keepe the Peace in Kent County and to Keepe and cause to be Kept all Lawes and orders for the good Conservacon of the Peace & for the quiett rule and Goverment of the people in all and every the the Articles of the same and to chaster and punish all persons offending against the Forme of any the Lawes and Orders of this our Preemice or any of them in Kent County aforesaid as according to the forme of those Lawes and orders shall be fitt to be donn Wee have constituted and ordained You and every Fower or more of you of which you the said William Frisby John Hinson Hance Hanson and Thomas Smith or one of You are allways to be one of the Comicon.rs to Enquire by Oathes of good and Lawfull of You |
