This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of
August in y.e sixth year of y.e Reigne of our sovereigne
Lord & Lady William & Mary by y.e grace of God of
England Scotland France & Ireland King & Queen defend.r
of y.e faith &c.a and in y.e year of our Lord God 1694 Between
William Woodland of Kent County of y.e one part and
Benjamin Blackleach of y.e s.d County on y.e other part
wittnesseth that y.e s.d William Woodland for y.e sume of
seven Thousand pounds of tobacco in hand paid or secured
to be well & truely paid y.e REceipt whereof he y.e s.d William
doth acknowledge himselfe fully sattisfied & by these
presents doth fully clearly & absolutely give grant bargain
sell allien Enffeoff & Confirme unto y.e s.d Benjamin Blackleach
all that pcell or tract of Land called Penrose Lying
in Kent County on y.e north side of Chester River adjoyning
to a pcell of Land called Bachellors Hope begining at a
marked Chesnutt tree standing on a point called High Clift
Ricing north East up with & by y.e River to y.e aforesd
Batchellors hope & from thence with a Line drawn north
west one hundred & sixty pches & from y.e End of y.e north
west Line with a Line drawn south west fifty perches
& from thence with a Line south East one hundred and
sixty perches unto y.e first bounded tree togather with all y.e
Rights members & appurtenances with all houses Edifices
buildings orchards Gardens pastures woods trees wayes Easments
profitts & Comodityes whatsoever y.e s.d tenemnts & pcell
of Land containing fifty acres belonging or thereunto appertaining
To have and To hold the said tenement & tract
of Land with all & singular y.e Rights perquisets & appurtenances
unto the said Benjamin Blackleach his heires & assignes &
to y.e only proper use & behoofe of y.e s.d Benjamin Blackleach
his heires & assignes for Ever And y.e s.d William Woodland
for himselfe his heires Executors & doth hereby Covenant
grant & agree to and with y.e s.d Benjamin Blackleach
his heires or asigness that y.e s.d William Woodland his
heirs Executors &c.a the tenements & pcell or tract of fifty acres
of Land & all & singular other y.e p.rmisses hereby granted
or Intended to be hereby granted Bargained & sold with the
appurtenances to y.e same belonging unto y.e s.d Benjamin
Blackleach his heires or assignes against all persons w.tsoever
shall & will for Ever [illegible] warrant & defend by these
presents And y.e said William Woodland for himselfe his
heires Executors doth Covenant & agree to & with y.e said
Benjamin Blackleach his heires & assigness & Every and
