396 This Indenture made y.e 28.th day of March in the year of our Lord Christ (1693) & in y.e fifth year of y.e Reigne of W.m & Mary by y.e grace of God of England & Betweene Benjamin & W.m Parrot both both of Talbot County in y.e province of Maryland planters & Elizabeth y.e wife of Benjamin Parrat of y.e one parte And Philip Hopkins of y.e County & province affores.d of y.e other part Wittnesseth that y.e s.d Benjamin & W.m Parrot for & in Consideration of y.e sum of fourteen thousand pounds of good sound Merchantable tobb & caske paid or well & sufficiently undertaken & secured to be paid unto y.e s.d Benjamin & W.m Parrot by y.e s.d Philip Hopkins & divers other good causes & considerations them y.e s.d Benjamin & W.m thereunto especially moveing they y.e s.d Benjamin & W.m Parrot by & w.th the consent of Elizabeth y.e wife of Benjamin Parrot testified by her signeing & sealing these p.rsents hath given granted barganed sold aliened enfeoffed Confirmed & by these present doe for themselves & their heirs fully freely & absolutely give grant alien sell enfeoffe Confirme unto y.e s.d Philip Hopkins his heirs & assignes soever halfe of that tract or parcells of land called Thorton formerly granted to Francis Jackson by assignment from y.e hono.ble Philip Calvert Esq. which Francis Jackson assigned y.e s.d ye sd tract of land Andrew Cooke as by pattent dated y.e 17.th day of Jan.ry (1666) y.e s.d tract of Land y.e s.d W.m Parrot did will & hogwash of his last will & testament unto his sons George & Benjamin that thousand acres of Land called Thorton |
