This Indenture made this twenty eighth day of
June in the year of our Lord Christ (1692) and in the
fourth yeare of y.e Reigne of W.m & Mary Defend.rs
of y.e faith &c.a Betweene Edward James & Katherine
his wife of Kent County in y.e province Mary Land
of y.e one part & Jonathan Dickins of the county of
& provinces afores.d of the other part Witnesseth
that the s.d Edward James & Katherine his wife for
& in consideration of fifty thousand pounds of tobb
allreaday in hand paid by y.e s.d Jonathan Dickins
& for divers other good causes & considerations them
the s.d Edward James & Katherine his wife thereto
moveing hath given granted barganed & sold enfeoffed
& confirmed & by these presents doth give grant
bargan sell enfeoffe & confirme unto y.e s.d Jonathan
Dickins his heirs & assignes for ever all that parcell
of Land called Wrights purchase Lyeing in Kent County
& on y.e westerne side of y.e Island of Kent begining at
a marked Locust stump standing upon a point at
the mouth of a Creeke called y.e Northwest Creeke
