Measured and valued on the part of the state. WALTER CROOK,
(A true copy. S. Lowdermilk, clk.)
(No. 7.)
Baltimore, April 8th, 1808.
Mr. Tuck, Sir,
ENCLOSED I send you a memorandum of Mr. Crook's and myself's valuation of the work done by you,
for the state, that we were called on to value. Mr. Crook has sent on the valuation without the annexed explana-
tion, and of course without my signature: He would not agree to sign the explanation, but observed that he
thought you ought to be satisfied without it. I have done all in my power to serve you, and I believe if he, Crook,
had signed the explanation you, would have been paid your charge without, further trouble. Your's sincerely,
WM. CAMP.
Messrs. Wm. and Washington Tuck, Annapolis.

Baltimore, 31st March, 1808.
THE undersigned being called on to value the above work give it at their joint opinion, that the prices an-
nexed to the several articles. &c. above, is correct, as far as they are competent to determine from appearance.
But the undersigned are far from wishing it understood, from the above valuation, that it should be inferred that
the men who made the work and repairs should be allowed no more for their services, as they say several altera-
tions took place in the execution of the above work, which added materially to their labour and materials;
there are also several other expenses attending the fitting up the delegates room, which the undersigned think
themselves not competent to determine, (work that Mess. Tucks say they have performed,) viz. glazing, plaster-
ing and scaffolding, brasses for lamps, &c. their expenses going to Washington to take a plan of the finishing of
the house of representatives, and several times to Baltimore for materials and furniture.
