66 VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS, NOVEMBER SESSION, 1808.

A petition from John M'Mullin, of Caroline county, praying his tale to lands devised him by Dennis M'Mul-
lin, may be confirmed, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Young, Mr. Hughlett and Mr. Bayard, to con-
sider and report thereon.

A petition from Thomas Layfield, praying to be refunded composition money for laud paid for by him, and to

which he cannot obtain a title, was preferred, read and referred to Mr. Wilson, Mr, Hayward and Mr. Cott-
man, to consider and report thereon.
A memorial from the president and trustees of the Snow-Hill academy, praying to be incorporated, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. Wilson, Mr. Hayward and Mr. Bennett, to consider and report thereon..
Mr. Streett, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Harford county, praying a law
to pass authorising the levy court of said county to levy a sum of money to build a bridge; over Deer creek, have
taken the same into their consideration, and are of opinion it would be adviseable to reicr the further considera-
tion of the same to the next general assembly. All which is submitted.

Which was read the first and second time by especial order and concurred with.

Mr. Veatch, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the support of John
Richards, of Montgomery county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent
to the senate by the clerk.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Harford county, praying a bridge over the river Susquehanna, was pre-

ferred and read.

Mr. Stansbury, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to male public the road
therein mentioned; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The bill annulling the marriage of Frederick Beamer, and Susannah his wife, of the city of Baltimore, was
read the second time, and the question put, Shall the said bill pass? Determined in the negative.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to establish and confirm certain acts done by jus-
tices of the peace in Allegany county. ORDERED, That Mr. M'Mahon, Mr. Hilleary and Mr. Tomlinson, be a
committee to prepare and bring in the same.

ORDERED, That the bill to alter and abolish all such parts of the constitution and form of government as are
therein mentioned, be withdrawn.

Mr. Young, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the relief of John M'Mul-
lin, of Caroline county; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to alter and abolish all such
parts of the constitution and form of government as therein mentioned; which was read the first time and or-
dered to lie on the table.

The following message was read, agreed to, and with the bill therein mentioned, sent to the senate by the clerk.
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, December 19, 1808.

Gentlemen of the Senate,

WE send you back the bill, entitled, An act for the preservation of the breed of wild deer in Dorchester county,
which was negatived by your house. As it is a local law, and the whole delegation, and almost all the inhabitants
of said county, are anxious that such a law should pass, we hope, upon reconsideration, you will pass the same.

Th bill to authorise and empower the levy court of Baltimore county to assess and levy a sum of money for
the support and maintenance of Richard Bond, the bill to prevent persons from staking out seines across the river
Wiccomico, in Somerset county, and the bill to pay the civil list, and other expenses of civil government, were
read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

A petition from Folger Pope, of the city of Baltimore, praying a special, act of insolvency, was preferred,
read, arid referred to Mr. Sanders, Mr. Dorsey and Mr. Forwood, to consider and report thereon.

The bill for building a bridge over Tuckahoe creek where the old bridge now stands, was read the second
time, and, on motion, the question was put, That the further consideration of the same be postponed until to-
morrow? Resolved in the affirmative.

The report on the petition. of Rinaldo Johnson was read the second time, and the question put, That the
house concur therewith, and assent to the resolution therein contained? The yeas and nays being required, ap-
peared us follow:
