Galt, was preferred, read, and referred to the committee appointed on the petition to which it is counter.
Mr. Mitchell, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to an act, entitled.
An act authorising the proprietors of the French-town and New-Castle water and land stages to open a road
from French-town, in Caecil county, to intersect the divisional line between this state and the state of Dela-
ware at a road laid out by the commissioners of New-Castle county, in the state of Delaware; which was read,
the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Forwood, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A supplement to the act, entitled,.
An act to appoint and authorise commissioners to review and lay out the road therein mentioned in Harford
county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the
clerk.
Mr. Kerr, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act authorising Elizabeth Sherwood
and Thomas Banning, administrators of Hugh Sherwood, of Huntington, deceased, to complete the collection
of balances due the said Hugh Sherwood, as sheriff of Talbot county; which was read the first and second time
by. especial order, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The clerk of the senate delivers the supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief of John Booth, and
for. confirming his title in certain lands therein mentioned, endorsed, " will pass, " Ordered to be engrossed.
The bill to lay out and make public an old road in Harford county, endorsed, " will not pass. " The bill autho-
rising a letter) to raise a sum of money to purchase a fire engine, and finish the church in Westminster-town,
in Frederick county, and the bill for the relief of Martin Brown, an insolvent debtor of Saint-Mary's county,
severally endorsed, " will pass with the proposed amendments.; " which amendments were read, agreed to, and
the bills ordered to be engrossed.
Mr. Little, from the committee delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to repeal the second section of
the act, entitled, An act concerning the chancery, court; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the
table.
On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to repeal the forty-
seventh section of the act, entitled, An act for the organization and regulation of the courts of common law in
this state, and for the administration of justice therein passed at November session, 1805? Determined in the
negative.
The bill to authorise the levy-court of Anne-Arundel county to assess and levy a sum of money for the pur-
poses therein mentioned, was read the second time and passed.
A petition from Levin Winder, of Somerset county, praying a correction in the beginning of lot No. 22 in
Vienna-town, in Dorchester county, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Kerr, Mr. Shaaff and Mr. King,
to consider and report thereon.
The bill to release to Richard Trimble the right of the state of Maryland to the property therein mentioned,
was read the second time and passed.
The bill to incorporate the contributors to the Baltimore General Dispensary, was read the second time and
passed.
The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read
The bill to incorporate the contributors to the Baltimore General Dispensary, the bill to release to Richard
Trimble the right of the state of Maryland to the property therein mentioned, and the bill to authorise the levy
court of Anne-Arundel county to assess and levy a sum of money for the purposes therein mentioned, were sent
to the senate by the clerk.
The bill to lay out, straighten and amend, an old road in Harford county from the Maryland line to Isaac Da-
vis's, and the bill to authorise a lottery to raise a sum of money for the purpose of finishing the Elkton academy,
purchasing philosophical apparatus for the same, and for paving. and improving the streets of Elkton, in Caecil,
county, were read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The bill to confirm and make public a certain road therein mentioned, was read the second time, and, on mo-
tion, That the following be added at the end of the same, to wit: " And be it enacted, That so soon as the
aforesaid road is opened and made passable for wagons and carriages of burthen, the levy court of Baltimore
county are hereby authorised and empowered to shut up all or any part of the old road, known by the name of
The Over-shot Road, beginning at the Great Falls of Gunpowder, and running to the road leading from Dula-
ny's Ford to Towson's tavern, at or near general Charles Ridgely's, (of Hampton,) orchard, " the question
Was put, That the further consideration of the same be postponed until to-morrow? Resolved in the affirmative.
On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act to prevent justice
of the peace from receiving fees for issuing warrants, rendering judgments, or issuing executions for small debts,
and for other purposes? Determined in the negative.
