A petition from David Streett, of Harford county, praying a law may pass authorising and directing the levy
court of said county to levy damages sustained by him agreeable to the return of certain commissioners, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Ayres, Mr. Davis and Mr. Bruce, to consider and report thereon.
Mr. Steuart, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of William Evans, of the city of Baltimore, praying a
divorce, report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and examined the documents thereto annex-
ed, and are of opinion the facts therein stated are not sufficient to justify the interference of the legislature,
and that the said petitioner have leave to withdraw his petition.

On motion, ' Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A further supplement to the act relating to negroes. OR-

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, An act authorising Benjamin Ray, late sheriff and col-
lector of Montgomery county, to complete his collection. ORDERED, That Mr. Carroll, Mr. Darne and Mr.
Linthicum, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.
The clerk of the senate delivers the resolution in favour of the justices of the levy court of Baltimore comity,
endorsed, " assented to. "

The further supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, was read the

The further supplement to an act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, was sent to the senate by the
clerk.
A memorial from Thomas Harris, clerk to the court of appeals for the western shore, praying that the gover-
or and council may be empowered to examine into the situation of the records of his office and, if necessary,
to have such of the said records transcribed as are defaced, and others which require binding to be bound, and
to direct such other duties to be performed as may appear to them necessary and proper, was preferred, read, and
referred to Mr. Muir, Mr. C. Dorsey and Mr. T. Dorsey, to consider and report thereon.
The resolution in favour of William Amos, senior, of Harford county, was read the second time, passed, and
sent to the senate by the clerk.
A memorial from sundry inhabitants of Charles county, praying that certain roads in said county may he de-
clared public highways, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. C. Dorsey, Mr. Green, Mr. Rogerson, Mr.
Stone and Mr. Bruce, to consider and report thereon.
