So it was resolved in the affirmative.

The question was then put, That the house assent to the same? Resolved in the affirmative.

On motion, Leave given to bring in a bill, entitled, A supplement to the act authorising Benjamin Ray, late
sheriff and collector of Montgomery county, to complete his collection. ORDERED, That Mr. W. H. Brown,
Mr. J. E. Spencer and Mr. T. Dorsey, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

Mr. T. Dorsey, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, A further supplement to the act,
entitled, An act authorising Thomas Bailey, late sheriff and collector of Baltimore county, to complete his col-
lection, and for other purposes; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed, and sent
to the senate by the clerk.

On the second reading of the bill to establish a board of agriculture for the counties therein mentioned, the
question was put, That the further consideration of the same be referred to the next general assembly? Deter-
mined in the negative.

The question was then put, That the same be referred to the first day of June next? Determined in the ne-
gative.

The bill being read throughout, the question was put, Shall the said bill pass? Resolved in the affirmative.

The clerk of the senate delivers the bill authorising the drawing of a lottery for raising a sum of money for
the purposes therein mentioned, endorsed, " will puss with the proposed amendment; " which amendment was
read, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed. The bill to prevent for a limitted time the sale of lands
or tenements, goods or chattels, on writs of execution, and for other purposes therein mentioned, and the bill
to establish the pay of the adjutant-general and brigade inspectors, severally endorsed, "will not pass. " And
the following message:

By the SENATE, January 19, 1808.

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates,

WE have rejected the bill, entitled, An act to fix and establish the pay of the adjutant-general and brigade
inspectors. If you will send us a bill giving the adjutant-general the sum of five hundred dollars per annum it
will meet our approbation.

By order, T. ROGERS, clk.

Which was read.

Also the resolutions in favour of the examiner-general, Letitia Crookshanks, and the resolution relative to the
investment of the public money in the treasury, severally endorsed, "assented to. " And a bill, entitled, An
act for the removal of the seat of government from Annapolis to the city of Baltimore, endorsed, "will pass; "
which was read, and, on motion, the question put, That the house dispense with the 16th rule thereof? Re-
solved in the affirmative.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the said bill, and the question put, Shall the said bill pass?

Mr. Kerr, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the payment of the journal
of accounts; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

The following resolution was read, assented to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

RESOLVED, That the executive be requested to forward to each member of the legislature two copies of the
militia law of this state, when printed.

On the second reading of the bill to increase the powers of the high court of chancery, the following amend-
ment was proposed and received to the same: After the word " may" in the 4th line from the bottom of the
first page insert " in his discretion. "
