Mr. Kerr, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Samuel Thomas, of Talbot county, guardian of Mary
Stevens Barnaby, beg leave to report, that having duly considered the several circumstances therein set forth,
are of opinion the prayer of the petitioner ought not to be granted, and that the petitioner have leave to with-
draw his petition.

By order, J. S. SKINNER, clk.
Which was read the first and second time by especial order and concurred with.

The following resolution was read the first and second time by especial order and assented to.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to the examiner-general of the western shore, suck
sum, in addition to his fees for the year 1807, as shall amount to the sum of three hundred pounds current mo-
ney; and the examiner-general shall lay before the next session of assembly the amount of fees by him received
this year, on oath.

The bill, entitled, An act authorising the court of chancery to decree in the case therein mentioned, the bill
for the preservation of the navigation of Cabin creek, the bill for the preservation of the navigation of the
north-west branch of Nanticoke river, in Dorchester county, were read the second time and passed.

Mr. Little, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore pay out of any unappropriated money in the treasury to
the executive of the state of Maryland, any sum or sums of money in the aggregate amount not exceeding three
hundred pounds, in addition to the sum now allowed by law, to defray the expenses and incidental charges of
government.

Which was read.

On motion, the question was put, That the further consideration of the further additional supplement to the
act, entitled, An act to erect Baltimore-town, in Baltimore county, into a city, and to incorporate the inhabi-
tants thereof, be postponed until the first day of June next? Determined in the negative.

ORDERED, That the same have a second reading on to-morrow.

On the second reading of the bill to fix and establish the pay of the adjutant-general and brigade inspectors,
the question was put, That the blank ascertaining the adjutant-general's salary be filled up with "one thousand
dollars ?" Determined in the negative.

The question was then put on " eight hundred dollars. " Determined in the negative.

The question was then put on " seven hundred and fifty dollars. " Determined in the negative.

The question was then put on " seven hundred dollars. " The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow-
