the treasury.

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

SUNDAY, January 4, 1807.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.
The resolution authorising desks for the house of delegates, was sent to the senate by the clerk.
The clerk of the senate delivers the additional supplement to an act to provide for. the organization and re-
gulation of the courts of common law in this state, and for the administration of justice therein, endorsed
" will pass. " Ordered to be engrossed. The supplement to an act, entitled, An act respecting the acknow-
ledgment of deeds, endorsed " will not pass. " The resolutions relative to the Farmers Bank, and the reso-
lutions in favour of Robert C. Stone, and others, and John S. Brookes, severally endorsed " dissented from. "
The resolution relative to the address to the president, and the resolution in favour of Charles Gordon, John
Trippe and John Davis, severally endorsed " unanimously assented to. " And the resolution in favour of Wil-
liam Taylor, endorsed " assented to. " Also the following message:

By the SENATE, January S, 1807.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates

WE cannot consent, (no new evidence being furnished us, ) to reconsider the bill, entitled, An act to lay
out and make public a road in Charles county.

By order, T. ROGERS, clk.
Which was read.

And the bill to make public a road in Charles county, endorsed " will not pass. " Also the engrossed bills front
No. 31 to 61, inclusive, endorsed " read and assented to. "
The following message was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, January 4, 1807.
Gentlemen of the Senate,

HAVING finished all the business before ns,, we propose, with your concurrence, to Close the session im-
mediately.

On the second reading of the bill to increase the salary of the chief judge of the sixth judicial district of this
state, the question was put, That the blank therein contained be filled up with the words " eight hundred"
Determined in the negative.
The question was then put on " six hundred. " The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

manner aforesaid, " the question was put, That the blank therein be filled up with the words " six hundred?"
