RESOLVED, That the different militia officers, now holding commissions, be and are hereby directed to obey,
without delay, the orders of the executive to carry into execution the foregoing resolution.

Mr. Cox, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act making an addition to the name
of Thomas Porter, of the city of Baltimore; which was read the first and second time by especial order, passed,
and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The resolutions relative to the records in the land-office for the western shore, were read the second time, as-
sented to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The clerk of the senate delivers the resolution in favour of the examiner-general, endorsed " assented to. "
The bill relating to public roads in Queen-Anne's county, endorsed " will not pass." And the following message:

Gentlemen of the House of Delegates

WE propose, with your concurrence, to proceed immediately to the election of two directors on the part of
this state in the Farmers Bank of Maryland. No person is put in nomination by the senate in addition to the
gentlemen named by your house. Mr. Lowrey and Mr. Dorsey are appointed by this house to join the gentle-
men named by you to examine the ballots.

county; which was read the first and second time by especial order, and the question put, Shall the said bill-

Mr. Little, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of a number of inhabitants of Baltimore county, praying
that a law may pass opening a road in said county, report, that they have taken the same into consideration,
and are of opinion, in as much as no notice was given to the public of their intentions, it is inexpedient at this
time to grant the prayer of the petitioners.

A petition from Jasper E. Tilley, late sheriff of Anne-Arundel county, praying a further time to complete
his collection, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. C. D. Hodges, Mr. Pearce and Mr. Belt, to consider
and report thereon.

The house proceeded to ballot for two directors on the part of this state in the Farmers Bank of Maryland;
the ballots being deposited in the ballot box, the gentlemen named to strike retired, and after sometime return-
ed and reported, that William Hayward and William Kilty were elected. Whereupon

RESOLVED, That William Hayward and William Kilty be, and they are hereby declared to be, directors on
the part of this state for the ensuing year in the Farmers Hank of Maryland.

A communication from the court of appeals, recommending that the criers thereof, and sheriffs attending the
same, should be paid tor their services, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Harryman and
Mr. Shaaff, to consider and report thereon.

Mr. Street, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled. An act to lay out and streighten a
road from Towson's tavern on the Baltimore turnpike road, to intersect the Pennsylvania line at major David
Wiley's; which was read the first and second time by especial order and passed.

Mr. Martin, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the bill to alter such parts of the constitution and
form of government as relate to voters, and the qualifications of voters, as amended; which was read the first
time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Bayard, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for the benefit of the sheriffs
of the several counties of this state; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. B. Hodges, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:

THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John Smith Brookes, of Prince-George's county, beg
leave to report, that they have taken the same into their consideration, and examined the accompanying docu-
ments, and are of opinion that the prayer of the petitioner is reasonable and just, and ought to be granted r
they therefore submit the following resolution to the consideration of the legislature.

RESOLVED, That the treasurer o!' the western shore be and he is hereby authorised and directed to give credit
to John Smith Brookes, of Prince-George's county, on his bond given to the state, the sum of fifty-nine pounds
