On motion, the question was put, That the house reconsider the 33d clause? Resolved in the affirmative.
The question was then put, That the further consideration thereof be postponed? Resolved in the affirmative.
On motion, the question was put, Will the house reconsider the 35th clause? Determined in the negative.
On motion, the question was put, That the further consideration of the 36th clause be postponed? Resolved
m the affirmative.

On progression, the question was put, That the blank in the 37th clause, after the following words, to wit:

that if any person not belonging to any select company shall be found in possession of any musket, the pro-
perty of this state, such person, on conviction thereof before any justice of the peace for the county wherein
such person shall reside, shall be fined in the sum of, " be filled up with the words " twenty dollars?" Th
yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

So it was resolved in the affirmative.

On further progression, the question was put, That the words " on refusal to give it up and" be inserted in
the first part of said clause between the words " person" and " on ?" Resolved in the affirmative.

On further progression, the question was put, That the 48th clause be stricken out? Resolved in the affir-
mative.

The question was then put, That the following be inserted in lieu thereof? to wit: " And be it enacted,
That the governor, with the advice and consent of the council, shall appoint one brigadier-general to command
the cavalry, and also a lieutenant-colonel commandant and two majors to each of the three regiments, and the
brigadier-general shall appoint a brigade-major, to act also as inspector, with the rank of major; and the said
brigadier shall be authorised to direct reviews of the cavalry in such convenient detachments as he may judge;
best, but the troops shall muster at such times and places as the captains may appoint, provided they muster
eight times in the year. " Resolved in the affirmative.

On further progression, the question was put, That the blank in the 53d clause, ascertaining the adjutant and
inspector-generals salary, be filled up with the words "one thousand dollars ?" Determined in the negative.

The question was then put, That the same be filled up with the words " eight hundred dollars ?" Determined
in the negative.

The question was then, put, That the said blank be filled up with the words " six hundred dollars ?" Deter-
mined in the negative.

The question was then put, That the same be felled up with the words " five hundred dollars?" The yeas
and nays being required, appeared as follow:
