Mr. Smoot, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Thomas Jackson and Henry Haskins, of Dorchester
county, report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and find, that on the twentieth day of August,
one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine, that the aforesaid Thomas Jackson and Henry Haskins did pass
their bond to the state of Maryland for a lot of land number six, supposed to contain two hundred and eleven,
and one quarter acres, and by the examination of the examiner-general of the certificate of survey, there is
four and three quarters acres less than the quantity bonded for; therefore,
RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore credit the bond of Thomas Jackson and Henry Haskins
with the neat amount of four and three quarter acres of land, at ten dollars per acre, with interest from the date
of said bond.

Which was read.
A petition from Richard G. Hardesty, of Prince-George's county, praying a special act of insolvency, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Woodward, Mr. B. Hodges, Mr. Callis, Mr. Emerson and Mr. Sudler, to
consider and report thereon.
The bill authorising a lottery for raising a sum of money for the use and benefit of the Charitable Marine
Society of the city of Baltimore, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
The following resolution was read.
RESOLVED, That —————— next be the time appointed for choosing a senator to represent this state in the
senate of the United States in the place of the honourable Robert Wright, Esquire, elected governor; that the
said senator shall be a resident of the eastern shore of the state of Maryland, and that the person having the
majority of the ballots of all the attending members of both houses of the legislature be declared to. be duly
elected tu represent this state in the senate of the United States; and that a. commission issue to the said sena-
tor, appointed us aforesaid, signed by the governor for the time being, or in his absence by the presiding mem-
ber of the council, in the following words, to wit: " The State of Maryland, to ———————., Greeting. The
Legislature of Maryland reposing especial confidence in your integrity and abilities, have appointed you senator
to represent this state in the senate of the United States until the fourth day of March, 1807. Given under
my hand, and the seal of this state, -this —— day of ——, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun-
dred and six, and in the thirty-first year of the independence of the United States of America. "
Mr. Jump, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act. to prevent the going at large
of swine in the village of Hillsborough, in Caroline county, and for other purposes therein mentioned; which
was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Sudler, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report.:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Stephen Yoe, of Queen-Anne's county, beg leave to
report, that they have considered the same, and are of opinion that it is reasonable to allow the prayer of the
petitioner; they therefore submit the following resolution:
RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the eastern shore pay to Stephen Yoe the sum of —————— annually, out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

Mr. Blake, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:.
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Edward Reynolds, of Calvert county, beg leave to
report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion that the prayer of the petitioner
is reasonable and just, and ought to be granted; wherefore,
RESOLVED, That Edward Reynolds, executor of Thomas Reynolds, lay before the auditor his claim as exe-
cutor aforesaid against William Mollison, surviving partner of William and Robert Mollison, and the auditor is
hereby authorised and empowered to liquidate and adjust the same, and to ascertain the balance due thereon to
the said Edward Reynolds, executor of Thomas Reynolds; and the treasurer of the western shore is hereby
authorised to pay to the said Edward Reynolds, executor as aforesaid, out of any unappropriated money in the
treasury, the balance, if any, so as aforesaid to be ascertained by the auditor; provided, that if it shall appear
to the said auditor that there are debts in the hands of citizens of this state due to the aforesaid William Molli-
son, survivor as aforesaid, liable to be affected by the claim of Edward Reynolds, executor as aforesaid, then in
such case the auditor is hereby directed to allow to the said Edward Reynolds such sum only as may be due to
him, deducting the amount of the debts so due to the said William Mollison; and provided also, that if it shall
appear to the said auditor that the balance due to the said Edward Reynolds should be more than the sum now
in the treasury received From the sale of the property of the said William and Robert Mollison, confiscated un-
der the act of the genera! assembly of Maryland, passed at November session, 1780, that then the said auditor
shall allow the said Edward Reynolds such sum only as is now in the treasury, received from the sale of the
property confiscated as aforesaid.
