The bill for the support of Solomon Jones and wife, was read the second time, passed, and, with the bill Mr. Bruce, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report: " THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Jacob Workman, of Allegany county, report, that they have taken the same under their consideration, and from an examination of the records in the land-office, it appears patent has issued as stated by the petitioner. Your committee conceive it will be perfectly consonant to every principle, both of law and equity, to remove every possible doubt respecting the validity of the patent so issued, and to confirm the same, so far as the state may yet be supposed to hold an interest, by relinquishing the same; they therefore beg leave to recommend the following resolution:
RESOLVED, That the right of the state of Maryland in and to a tract or parcel of land, lying in Allegany ing into the treasury of the western shore the sum of six pounds five shillings on or before the———day of —— next. By order, L. GASSAWAY, clk. Which was read.
