and Archibald Dorsey, to complete the collection of the county tax in certain districts in Anne-Arundel county,

severally endorsed " will pass. " Ordered that said bills be engrossed. Also a letter from John Kilty, Esq;
enclosing an account of taxes received by him as register in the land-office; which was read and ordered to lie
on the table.

A petition from Thomas and John C. Hynson, Jun. of Kent county, praying that so much of the old road
leading from New-Market to Marche's lane as runs through their farms may be stopped up, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. Scott, Mr. Hum and Mr. Hanson, to consider and report thereon.

On motion, the question was put, That the bill annulling the marriage of Mary Kline, of the city of Balti-
more, and Jacob Kline, her husband, be postponed until the first day of June next ? Determined in the negative.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the said bill, and, on motion, the question was put, Shall the
preamble to the said bill be stricken out ? Determined in the negative.

The question was then put, Shall the said bill pass ? The yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:

SATURDAY, December 7, 1805.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The speaker appears in the house and re-

sumes the chair. The proceedings of yesterday were read.

A petition from Charles Duvall, of Prince-George's county, praying a law may pass, authorising him, as
guardian to Grafton Duvall, a minor, to sell a tract of land called Walnut Hill Enlarged, for the benefit of the
said Grafton Duvall, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Van-Horn, Mr. Hall and Mr. Carroll, to con-

sider and report thereon.

A petition from Samuel T. Wright, of Queen-Anne's county, praying a special act of insolvency, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. Sudler, Mr. Scott and Mr. Blake, to consider and report thereon.

Mr. Bayard, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act for draining part of a branch
called Old-town Branch, lying in the upper part of Caroline county; which was read the first time and ordered
to lie on the table.

A petition from John Randall, of Montgomery county, praying that the trustees of the poor for said county
may be authorised to support him as an out-pensioner, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Carroll, Mr.
Watts and Mr. Selby, to consider and report thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of Frederick county, praying that a law may pass, authorising a lottery
to raise a sum of money to rebuild the steeple to the German reformed church in Frederick-town, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. Hawkins, Mr. Waters and Mr. Van-Horn, to consider and report thereon.

Mr. Plater appears in the house.

Mr. Stephen, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act annulling the marriage of
Archibald Alexander and Susanna Alexander, and confirming the marriage of John Muskett and Susanna Mus-
kett, otherwise Susanna Alexander; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

On motion, ORDERED, That the bill, entitled, An act to regulate and discipline the militia of this state, be
made the order of the day for Monday the sixteenth instant.

A petition from Christopher Hughes, and others, of the city of Baltimore, praying an extension of Light-
street, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Stephen, Mr. Ellicott and Mr. Harryman, to consider and re-
port thereon.

A petition from sundry inhabitants of the city of Baltimore, praying an extension of Pratt-street, was pre-
ferred, read, and referred to Mr. Stephen, Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Kuhn, Mr. Ellicott and Mr. Harryman, to
consider and report thereon.

Mr. Parnham, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following reports:

THE committee to whom was referred the petitions of Solomon Jones, of Dorchester county, and Jacob
Hellen, of Calvert county, report, that they have had the same under consideration, and are of opinion that
the petitioners ground their application to the legislature for relief on services rendered in the Indian war to
this country, when under the dominion of the king of Great-Britain. This state can feel no peculiar obliga-
tion to; provide for said petitioners; they are therefore of opinion that they have leave to withdraw their re-
spective petitions. All which is respectfully submitted.
