The question was then put, Will the house reconsider the said clause? Resolved in the affirmative.

On motion, the question was put, That the word " ten" be stricked out of said clause? Resolved in the af-

The question was then put, That the word '' eight" be inserted in lieu of the word stricken out? Determin-
ed in the negative.

A petition from William M'Comas, of the city of Baltimore, praying an act of insolvency, was preferred,
read, and referred to Mr. Watts, Mr. Smoot and Mr. Forwood, to consider and report thereon.

The clerk of the senate delivers the bill to continue certain acts of assembly, endorsed, " will pass. " Or-
dered to be engrossed. The bill for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, endorsed, " will pass with the pro-
posed amendments; " which amendments were read. And the engrossed bills from No. 1 to 15, inclusive, from
No. 17 to No. 20, inclusive, with the paper bills thereof, and the engrossed bills No. 16, 40, 41, 42, 96, 97,
105, 106, and 107, with the paper bills thereof; which were read and assented to,

The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 9 o'clock.

SUNDAY, January 26, 1806.

THE house met. Present the same members as on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday were read.

The engrossed bills No. 40, 41, 42, 96, 97, 105, 106 and 107, were read and assented to, and the paper bills
thereof so endorsed, sent to the senate by the clerk.

The following order was read, viz.

ORDERED, That the governor and council be and they are hereby authorised to employ a proper person, (un-
der their direction, ) to procure a carpet, and repair the window blinds, for the use of the room occupied by the
house of delegates, and they are hereby authorised to draw on the treasurer of the western shore lor such sum
of money as may be necessary for the above purpose, and the expence thereof, with the account, to be laid
before the house at their nest session.

On motion, the question was put, That the further consideration of the same be referred to the next general
assembly ? Resolved in the affirmative.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the bill to provide for rendering passable through Baltimore
county the public road leading from the city of Baltimore by Belle-Air, in Harford county, to Peach Bottom
Ferry, on the river Susquehanna; on motion, the question was put, That the further consideration of the same
be referred to the next general assembly ? Determined in the negative.

The bill being read throughout, the question was put, Shall the said bill pass ? Resolved in the affirmative.
Which bill was sent to the senate by. the clerk.

The bill to authorise a lottery within the city of Baltimore, and for other purposes, was read the second
time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.

The bill authorising the drawing of a lottery to defray the expence of building a masonic hall in the city of
Baltimore, was read the second time, passed, and. gent to the senate by the clerk.

The amendments proposed to the bill for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, were read the second time,
agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.

The report of the committee of claims on the petition of Frederick Green, was read the second time, and
the question put, Will the house concur with the said report and assent to the resolution therein contained
