Mr. Montgomery, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act to confirm certain acts
f magistrates who hold, or have held, offices under the general government; which was read the first and se-
cond time by especial order and passed.
Mr Bruce, from the committee, delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An additional supplement to an act
for the relief of creditors, and to prevent frauds and deceits occasioned by secret sales, and mortgages and
gifts, of goods and chattels; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
Mr. Plater, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Saint-Mary's county, relating
to the regulation of pilots, having maturely examined the same, and from the variety of provisions and reme-
dies prayed for, and from the lateness of the session, beg leave to report, that the said petition be referred te
the consideration of the next general assembly.

The house proceeded to the second reading of the supplement to an act, entitled. An act to incorporate
company to make a turnpike road to lead from the cross roads near Richard Caton's limekiln, in Baltimore
county, nearly in the direction of Jones's Falls, to the city of Baltimore, which being read throughout, on mo-
tion, the question was put, That the following be added to the said bill? viz. " And be it enacted, That Tho-
mas Rutter, doctor John Cromwell, Robert Porter, William C. Goldsmith and Benjamin Talbot, be and they
are hereby appointed commissioners to review the location of the road as above directed, and in case the said
commissioners shall be of opinion that the location as above directed is not the most eligible and advantageous,
then it shall and may be lawful for the said commissioners to alter the location thereof, and adjudge and esta-
blish such direction as in their opinion shall be most adviseable and advantageous to the community, and all par-
ties interested, having regard to the location established by the original act of incorporation. " Resolved in the
affirmative.

the cross roads near Richard Caton's limekiln, in Baltimore county, nearly in the direction of Jones's Falls, to
the city of Baltimore, the bill to confirm certain acts of magistrates who hold, or have held, offices under the
general government, the bill relative to the collection of debts due to the state, and the resolutions in favour.
of John Kilty and Edward Roberts, were sent to the senate by the clerk.
A petition from Henry Gassaway, of Anne-Arundel county, praying the treasurer may be authorised to pay
him one year's allowance in advance, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Dorsey, Mr. Van-Horn and Mr.
Plater, to consider and report thereon.
The bill authorising a lottery for raising a sum of money for repairing St. George's church on Deer creek, in.
Harford county, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
Mr. Ayres, from the committee, delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petitions of David West and Henry Myers, of Harford county,
and William Fulks, of the city of Baltimore, praying for a change of part of the road leading from the Black-
house to the Pennsylvania line, near Thomas Boyd's, report, that they have taken the same into consideration,
and are of opinion, from the few number of signers to the petition, that the subject ought to be referred to the
next session of assembly.

A petition from the elders and trustees of the German evangelical reformed church of the city of Baltimore,
praying a lottery to raise a sum of money to finish said church, and build a school-house, was preferred, read,
