June Court 1727 twenty and Six at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court Did Comit fornication with a Certain Hannah Ward and then and there Did beget a Bastard Child on the Body of her the Same Hannah to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary to y.e peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry his Good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided Wherefore y.e Same Attry of the Same Lord prop.ry for the s.d Lord prop.ry prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses and Due process of Law in this part to be made against the afd Samuel to Answer unto the afd Lord prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a T francis Cler. pac. Test Hannah Ward And the afd Samuel Hudson in his proper person Comes and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the afd Information it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here this twenty third Day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven that y.e s.d Samuel Hudson pay the Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobacco as a fine for his afd Offence of Committing fornication in form afd Confest according to Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided also it is Considered that He pay the Sume of three hundred and thirty two pounds of Tobacco Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of this Court Jam.s Smith Clk Ordered by the Court here that the afd Samuel Hudson find Security to keep this County of Kent Clear from ^all^ Damages and Shall Accrue by the afd Hannah Wards Child Thereupon W.m Mackey and James Smith / of Langfords Bay / both of Kent County Comes into Court and assumes to keep y.e Coty Cleare from all Damages & Charges that may or Shall Accrue by occasion of y.e afd Hannah Wards Child Ordered by the Court here that the Sher of Kent County keep y.e afd Samuel Hudson in Safe Custody untill he Shall Satisfie y.e fine and fees in y.e Judgment afd Specified in the whole amounting to y.e Sume of Nine hundred and thirty two pounds of Tob.o The afd Sam.l Entered into Recog.c this Court in y.e sum of 10£ Sterl for his appearance any time dureing y.e Court sitting to Answer unto what should be Objected against him [illegible] by the same may appear Sam.l Clark & Oliver Palmer his Suretys in the sum of 5£ Sterl each the afd Hudson appeared to same and thereupon it's ordered to be discharged The afd Hudsons Recognizance in the sum 10£ Sterl and his Suretys Sam.l Clark and Oliver Palmer 5£ Sterl each are by this Court discharged |
