253 Kent County fs.t Memorandum that Tench Francis Gent Attorney of the Right honourable the Lord propry that now is for the County afd who for the same Lord propry in this part prosecuteth doth come here into his said Lordships County Court before Lambert Wilmer Esq.r his said Lordships Justices of the same County the twenty seventh day of September in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and twenty six in his proper person And for the same Lord propry doth give the Court here to understand and be Informed that Thomas Atkinson late of Saint paules parish in the County afd Brickmaker the twenty sixth day of September Anno Dom seventeen hundred twenty & six at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain John Adams in the peace of God and of the said Lord propry then and there being with force and Arms an Assault did make and him the said John Adams then and there did beat Wound and evilly treat so that of his Life it was much dispaired and other harms to him then and there did to the great Damage of the said John Adams and against the peace of the said Lord proprietary his good rule and Government whereupon the said Tench Francis prayeth the advice of the Court here in the premisses for the said Lord propry and that due process of Law may issue against the said Thomas Atkinson in this part to Answer unto the said Lord propry of and upon the premisses &c.a Test Dominick Kenslagh T francis Clk pac And the afd Thomas Atkinson in his proper person comes and saith that cannot gainsay the Information afd so as against him brought nor can he but that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Information it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house in the Town of Chester in Kent County this twenty first day of March Anno Dom seventeen hundred twenty and six That the afd Thomas Atkinson pay to the Lord propry of this province the sum of six pence Current money of the province afd as a fine for his afd Offence in Committing an Assault and battery as by the afd Information it is alledged as also the sum of three hundred & Sixty two pounds of Tobacco Costs accruing on the premisses to the Officers of this Court Jam.s Smith Clk Ordered by the Court here to wit the Day and Year afd that the Sherrf of Kent County keep him the said Thomas in safe Custody untill he shall sattisfy the fine and fees in the Judgm.t afd Specefied in the whole amounting to Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland & three hundred & Sixty two pounds of Tobacco |
