Assembly in such Case made and provided &c

    On the Back of the preceeding Indictment was as foll.s viz.t
A true Bill p.r Sam.l Wilkes foreman

    And the afd Christian Kease in her proper person Comes and Saith
that She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her
brought nor but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her
Imposed as by the afd Indictment it is it is alledged and thereupon Submitts
to the Court        Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here
to wit at the Court house in the Town of Chester in s.d County this twenty
Seventh Day of Aprill Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty
five that the afd Christian Keese Receive at the publick whipping
post five Lashes well land on her bare back till the blood appear as a
punishment for her afd Crime of Committing fornication in form
afd Confest as also that he pay the sum of two hundred and
twenty three pounds of Tobacco Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd
to the officers of this Court

    Ordered by the Court here at this Day to wit the Day and year afd that
the Sher of Kent County take the afd Christian Keese into his Custody
and Execute the Lashes in the Judgment afd and afterwards to bring
her into Court again of which precept the s.d Sherf to wit Fred.k Hanson
Gent high Sherf of Kent County makes Return on the Day & year
last said that he hath Executed the s.d Judgment and also hath here
the s.d Christian Keese before the Court

    Ordered by the Court here that the s.d Christian Keese prove the begetter
of her Child who Declares on the holy Evangilists of Almighty God that
Isaac Clements of Cecill County was the Begetter of her last base born
Child She was Delivered off

    Ordered that the afd Christian give Security for the fees in y.e Judgment afd
Thereupon John Clove of Kent County Gentl Comes Into Court and
assumes to pay all y.e Costs and Charges afd mentioned in y.e Judgm.t
and thereupon the s.d Christian Keese is therefrom Acquitted
