June Court 1724 Chattles Lands and Tenements for the use of the s.d Lord prop.ry his heirs and Successors Conditionally that if the afd Garrett Shall not make his personal appearance before the Justices of our next Court to beheld for the County afd at the Court house in the Town of Chester in the same County on the third Tuesday of August next ^ensuing^ to answer unto what Shall be objected against him on behalfe of his Lordship and if that in the mean ^time^ he the same Garrett Shall not be of good behaviour wherewith the same Joseph Hull & John Dunford are Content
Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred and twenty three at y.e parish afd in Kent County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit fornication with a Certain Mary Slayfoot and then and there did begett a Basterd Child on the Body of her the same Mary Slayfoot to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evil example of all others in Such Case offending contra^r^y to the peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry that now is his good Rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided &c.a M Howard Cler. pac. Testis Mary Slayfoot On the back of the preceding Indictment was Endorst as foll viz.t A True bill p W.m Graves foreman And the afd Rice Jones in his proper person Comes and Says that he cannot Gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against him brought nor but that he is guilty of the premises above upon him Imposed as by the afd Indictmt it is alleadged and thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Courthouse in the Town of Chester this Sixteenth Day of June Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred and twenty four that the afd Rice Jones pay the sume of six |
