CHAP. 47.
Limit of deposits.

with the provisions of this act, and the rules and by-laws
which may from time to time be adopted.
Sec. 6. And be it enacted, That the regular weekly de-
posites of any member of said corporation shall in no case
exceed the sum of five dollars in any one week, and that
the whole amount of such deposites shall in no instance
exceed the sum of two thousand dollars.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the Directors, at least once in every sis months, to appoint
from the members of said corporation, five competent per-
sons, as a committee of examination, whose duty it shall
be to investigate the affairs of the said corporation, and to
make and publish a report thereof, in one or more news-
papers, printed in the city of Baltimore, and it shall also
be the duty of the Directors on the first day of January,

and on the first day of July, in each and every year, to
make and declare a dividend of the interest and profits of
the said corporation after paying its expenses; and the
same to pay over unto the depositors, or their legal repre-
sentatives, within ten days thereafter.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing contained in
this act, shall be held or construed as granting or intending
to grant, any power or powers inconsistent with grants of

the State heretofore made, to the existing banking institu-
tions in the city of Baltimore, or with the privileges secur-
ed to said Banks, by any act or acts of Assembly now in
force, nor authorise them to issue any hill, note, or other de-
vice in the nature of Bank notes.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the concerns of the said
corporation, shall be at all times subject to the inspection
of the Treasurer of the Western Shore, or such other offi-
cer of the State, as may be selected for that purpose, from
time to time, by either branch of the Legislature.


Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That this act shall continue
and be in force until the year eighteen hundred and forty-
five, and to the end of the next session of the General As-
sembly which shall happen thereafter.

An act Supplementary to "an act regulating the Inspection
of Green Hides and Skins, in the city of Baltimore."

WHEREAS, it appears that the act to which this is a sup-
