No. 40.

1832.

Resolution in favor of Barbara Reily, widow of William
Reiley, a soldier of the revolutionary war.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to Barbara Reily,
of the District of Columbia, widow of the late Major Wil-
liam Reily, a soldier of the revolutionary war, or to her
order, during widowhood, in half yearly payments, a sum
of money equal to the half pay of a captain in considera-
tion of the services rendered by her husband during said

Resolution in favor of the Visitors and Governors of St.
John's College.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer for the Western Shore be, and he is hereby
authorised and directed, to pay tc the Visitors and Govern-
ors of Saint John's College, or to their order, the sum of
two thousand dollars, annually, in addition to the sum now
payable to them; Provided, that the same shall be accept-
ed, in full satisfaction of all legal, or equitable claim, which
the said Visitors and Governors may have, or be supposed
to have, against the State.
And be it further resolved, That his Excellency the Go-
vernor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the
House of Delegates, the Chancellor and the Judges of the
Court of Appeals, for the time being, be on behalf of the
State, members of the board of Visitors, and Governors of
said College,
And be it further resolved, That at every meeting of the
General Assembly, a joint committee shall be appointed to
investigate and report to the General Assembly, the pro-
ceedings of said hoard, and whether the same be in con-
formity to law, and calculated to effectuate the design of
the Legislature in endowing said College; Provided, that
the Visitors and Governors of said College, before the re-
ceipt of the annuity hereby granted, shall file their accept-
ance of these conditions in the office of the clerk of the
court of appeals of the Western Shore, to be recorded
among the records thereof.
