said Trustees have asked of this General Assembly, per-
mission to receive, purchase, take and hold for the purpo-
ses aforesaid, any estate and property, by deed or otherwise,
to be by them applied to the uses and purposes aforesaid,
which petition being reasonable, — Therefore,

CHAP. 35.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Trustees of Saint Patrick's Church, in the city of
Baltimore, be, and they are hereby authorised and empow-
ered in their corporate name aforesaid, and for the uses
and purposes aforesaid, to receive, purchase, take and hold
by deed or otherwise, in fee simple, or any less estate, any

property or estate whatsoever; Provided, the same does not
exceed in quantity ten acres of land, or in annual value

the sum of four thousand dollars, and the said estate, or
any part thereof to sell, convey, release or dispose of, at

CHAPTER 35.
|
|
|
|
An ad to authorise the commissioners of Washington coun-
ty, to build a Stone Bridge across Antietam creek, on the
road leading from Funkstown to Williamsport, where the
old wooden bridge now stands.
|
Passed Feb. 5, 1833
|

|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Washington county be, and
they are hereby authorised to cause to be erected over An-
tietam creek, upon the best practicable site at or near the
old bridge, on the road leading from Funkstown to Wil-
liamsport, a substantial Stone bridge, upon such plan,
terms and conditions, and under such superintendance as
they may deem most conducive to the public interest, and

that they be, and are hereby authorised to levy on the as-
sessable property of said county such sum or sums of mo-
ney as they shall deem necessary to defray all expenses in
erecting said bridge.
