CHAPTER 287.

An act supplemental to an act for the establishment and sup-
port of Public Free Schools in the First Election Dis-
trict in Baltimore County.

Loan authorised

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of Public Free Schools
in the first election district of Baltimore county, may from
time to time negotiate, for the use of said Schools, at a
rate of interest not exceeding six per centum per annum,
a loan or loans, for a sum or sums of money, redeemable
out of, and in the aggregate not greater than the amount
of the school tax, which they may have levied or shall levy
in any year, for the use aforesaid; or the said commission-
ers may negotiate, for the use of said schools, and within

one year's school tax, to enable them to discharge present
claims against said commissioners, and satisfy accruing
demands as they may arise; and the said commissioners

ments, by levying from year to year, within said district,

tax levied, or which shall be levied, for the use of said
schools, may be enforced in the manner provided for the
collection of other taxes; and the said commissioners shall
