CHAP. 214.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners
before they proceed to act, shall take an oath or affirma-
tion before some justice of the peace, that they will, with-
out favor, partiality, or prejudice, assess the damages
sustained by the persons through whose lands the said
road may pass.

Case of vacancy

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That if any of the above
named commissioners shall resign or refuse to act, or a
vacancy occur by death or removal, the levy court of
said county shall fill such vacancy at their next meeting.


CHAPTER 213.

Passed Mar.14, 1833

An act to authorise ths sale of a lot of ground therein
mentioned.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the town of Charlestown, in
Cecil county, be and they are hereby authorised, at their
discretion, to sell a lot of ground in said town, known as
the public pump lot, and marked on the plot of said town
with the letter K., and lying in front of the house of one
Joshua Bennett.

An act for increasing the width of a part of Light-striet, in
the city of Baltimore.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
shall be, and they are hereby authorised to provide for
opening and increasing the width of that part of Light-

timore-street, so that the said part may be of an equal
and uniform breadth with the rest of the said street north of
Pratt-street, to such extent, and upon such terms consist-
