1832.

LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 192.

that he did not come into this State with the view of ob-
taining the benefit of said Insolvent Laws.

CHAPTER 192.

Passed Mar.11, 1833

An act to authorise the sale, or lease of certain vacant lots
of ground in Williamsport, in this State.

Preamble

WHEREAS, Susan F. Williams, guardian of Mary S.
Williams, William S. Williams, Otho H. Williams, and
next friend of Elizabeth C. Williams, infant children of
William E. Williams, late of Frederiek county, deceased,
and Ann Williams, guardian of Mary S. Williams, infant
daughter of Edward G. Williams, late of Washington coun-
ty, deceased, by their petition to this general assembly,
have set forth, that the said infants are seized in fee, of a
number of vacant lots of ground, in the town of Williams-
port, in Washington county, in this state, which, by reason
of the minority of said infants, and of the nature of their
interests and estates therein, cannot be sold, or otherwise
disposed of: And that it would be greatly to the advantage
of said infants, if a sale or some immediate disposition of
said lots could be made: And whereas, by the petition of
sundry inhabitants of Williamsport, it appears that the im-
provement and increase of that place are greatly injured
and retarded by the present condition of said lots, and of the
legal title thereto; wherefore it is prayed that an act may
be passed, to authorise the sale or lease of the said lots,
and the dividing the proceeds thereof, among the said in-
fants, according to their respective interests and estates
therein: j9nd wliereas, it appears to this general assembly
proper and reasonable, that the prayer, of said petitioners
should be granted— Therefore,

Authority to ap-
point trustee.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That upon petition of the infants aforesaid, by
guardian, or next friend, to the court of Chancery, and if
by return of commissioners, or otherwise, the court shall
be satisfied, that the same will be for the interest of the
