CHAP. 159.

CHAPTER 159.

Passed Mar. 13, 1833

A supplement to an act, entitled an act to compel the Regis-
ters of Wills in the several counties therein mentioned, to
keep each his Office, at the Scut of Justice in the County
for which he shall be Register, passed December session
eighteen hundred and four, chapter thirty-nine, so far as
relates to Harford County.

Clause repealed

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the act to which this is a supplement, as
requires the Registers of Wills of the Counties therein
mentioned, to attend two days in every week, at their offi-
ces, be and the same is hereby repealed, so far as relates to
Harford County.


CHAPTER 160.

Passed Mar.13,1833

A further supplement to the act entitled, an act for the distri-
bution of a certain fund for the purpose of establishing
Free Schools in the several Counties therein mentioned, so
far as relates to Harford County

Preamble

WHEREAS, it appears to this General Assembly, from
the report of the Orphans' Court of Harford county, that
several of the Commissioners of the School Fund, have
not complied with the directions of the supplement to the
original act, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-nine, chapter twenty-seven, which requires
that the Commissioners shall return an account of their ex-
penditures to the Orphans' Court, in November every year;
and it also appears by said report that the said Commis-
sioners have had constantly, considerable sums of mo-
ney in their hands unexpended, and without paying any
interest therefor, and there being no provision in any law
to authorise the Court to call the said Commissioners be-
fore them for settlement, or have any control over the sur-
plus money in their hands: — Therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That it shall be lawful for the Orphans' Court of
Harford county to compel the Commissioners of the
School Fund that have not already settled up their accounts,
to appear before them, and give an account of their ex-
penditures, otherwise charge them with all the monies that
