persons, beyond the limits of the State, every sheriff then

duties prescribed in the third section of the act aforesaid,
shall forfeit fifty dollars for every person he shall neglect
so to remove, to be recoverable in the county court of his
county, by action of debt or indictment.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein con-
tained shall be construed to repeal any part of the act to
which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 146.


An act authorising the establishment of a Ferry from the
lands of George M. Chickester, in Montgomery county,
over the river Potomac, nearly opposite the lower end of
Black Walnut Island.

Passed Mar. 8, 1833

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Montgomery County Court be, and they are
hereby authorised and empowered, to grant a license to
George M. Chichester, to keep a ferry, from his lands in
said county, over the river Potomac, nearly opposite the
lower point of Black Walnut Island; and such license to
renew from time to time, and to fix such rate of ferriage,
as they in their discretion may think proper.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said ferry, when li-
censed by the county court aforesaid, shall be forever there-
after deemed and taken to be, a public ferry, and subject
to the same regulations as public ferries now are, by the
existing laws of this State.

CHAPTER 147.


An act for the benefit of the Children and Devisees of Henry
Sleiner, late of Frederick county, deceased.

Passed Mar. 9, 1833

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Rachel Steiner, the widow and executrix
of Henry Steiner, late of Frederick County, deceased, be
and she is hereby authorised and empowered, to sell at
public or private sale, as she may deem best, all those
tracts, parts of tracts and portions of land lying and being
