November Court 1760 60 Manner and form as by the Information aforesaid above against her supposed (& maketh Oath that Acquilla Snelling is ye. father of the Child she stands Informed agt.) and is willing to pay her fine for ye. same &c Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Elizabeth for the premisses and offence afd. in the Information afd. above Specified be taken &c. Which Said Elizth Luke present herein Court afd. is fined for the premisses & Offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings Curt Money which She paid &c Whereupon a Certain Teague Riggen Present here in Court in his Proper person undertook for ye said Elizabeth Luke to pay ye severall officers their fees due by means of ye. Prosecution afd. &c.
Town in ye same County the day of In ye. Year of our Lord one thous: :and seven hundred & before Isaac Handy Esqr. and others his Associates ye. said Lord Propry his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord Propry doth give the same Justices here to understand and be Informed that Acquilla Snelling Late of Somerset Parish in the said County of Somerset House Carpen: :ter the Day of In ye. Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine at ye. Parish afd. in ye County afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Elizabeth Luke and a Bastard Child on ye. Body of her ye. said Elizabeth then & there did Begit to ye. High Displeasure of Almighty God to ye. Evil Example of all others in such Case offending & Contrary to ye. Peace of ye said Lord Propry that now is his good Rule and government and against ye. form of ye. Act of Assembly in such Case Lately made & Provided & so forth And Whereupon the same Atty. of ye same Lord Propry for ye. Lord Propry Prays advice of the Court here in the Premisses and that due Process of Law may in this Part be made against the said Acquilla to Answer of and upon ye. Premisses & so forth Thereupon it was Commanded ye. sherriffe of Somerset County that he should take ye said Acquilla if &c to answer &c. And now to wit at A Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town ye third Tuesday of November Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred and sixty before ye. Justices thereof Came ye. afd. Acquilla Snelling in his Proper person according to Certain Recognizance by him in that Part before Acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd. saith that he Cannot deny but that he is guilty of ye. Premisses in ye. Information afd. above upon him Imposed in manner & form as by ye. Information afd. above agt. him supposed Whereupon all and singular ye. Premisses being seen and by ye. Court here fully understood it is Considered by ye. Court here that ye. afd. Acquilla Snilling for ye. Premisses and offence afd. |
