November Court 1760 54 A good and faithfull Apprentice She Shall Demean herself towards her said Master and all his during the term aforesaid In Consideration of which Service the said Samuell Phebus present here in Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of the Same Court in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form following that is to say that he the said Samuel Phebus shall & will during the term afd. Learn his said apprentice to Said Apprentice meat drink washing Lodging & Cloathing Sufficient for Such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid Whereupon the said Samuel Phebus is ordered to give Sery for to Comply wih the Covenants afd. Thereupon the said Samuel Phebus together with William Pollit of Somerset County gentleman his Sery both present here in Court in their Proper persons Acknowledged themselves indebted unto the afd. Sarah Cullin Chane in thirty Pounds Current money of Maryland on their Bodies Goods or Chattles Lands and Tenements Joyntly & Severally to the use of the said Sarah Cullin Chane her heirs and Assigns to be made & Levied if it happen that the said Samuel Phibus do not during ye. term aforesaid Learn his said Apprentice to Knit sew and spin and to Read well in the Bible & Likewise find & provide for his said Apprentice meat drink wasing Lodging & Cloathing Sufficient for such an apprentice to have and wear during the term aforesaid &c.
and fifty nine at the Parish afd. in the County afd. did Commit Fornication with a Certain Alic Griffen and a Bastard Child on the Body of here the said then and there did Beget to the High Displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of All others in Such Case offending Contrary to the Peace of the said Lord Propry that Now is his good Rule and government and against ye. form of the Act of Assembly in such Case made & Provided and so forth Thereupon it was Commanded ye sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take ye said Aaron Starling if &c. to Answer &c. And now to wit at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of November Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred & sixty before the Justices thereof Came the afd. Aaron Starling by Littleton Dennis his Atty According to A Certain recoge. by him in that part before Acknowledged and had a hearing of ye. Inditn. afd. saith that he Cannot deny but that he is guilty of the Premisses in ye. Indt. afd. above upon him Imposed in manner & form as by ye Indictment afd. above against him Supposed Whereupon all & singular the Premisses being seen and by ye. Court fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Aaron Starling for ye. Premisses & offince afd. in ye. Indictment afd. above specified be taken &c. Which the said Aaron Starling present here in Court as afd. is fined for ye. Premisses & offence afd. thirty shillings Current money of Maryland which he paid here in Court to ye. use of ye. County &c Whereupon |
