March Court 1760 5 County upon their Oath present that William Cammell Late of Coventry Parish in the County afd. Planter on the XXV day of October In the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred fifty and nine with force and Arms at the Parish afd. in the County Afd. in and upon A Certain Elizabeth Evans in the peace of God & the said Lord propry then & there being and Assault did make & her the said Elizabeth then & there did beat Wound and Evilly Treat so that of his Life it was much Dispaired and other Harms to him the said Elizabeth Then & there did to the great Damage of the said Elizabeth & against the peace of the right Honrble the Lord propry that now is his good Rule and government &c Thereupon it is Commanded the sherriffe of Somerset County that he should take the said William Cammell if he should be found in his Bailywick & him should safe keep so that he might have his Body before the justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom. One thousand seven hundred & Sixty to Answer unto his Lordship of And Concerning the Indictment afd. &c Att Which Said third Tuesday of March & year afd. came the afd. William Cammell in his proper person & had a hearing of the Indictment afd. And Saith that he is not thereof Guilty and of this he puts himselfe upon the Country & Wm. Hayward Gent. who for his said Lordship in that part followeth Likewise Therefore Immediately Lett come thereof the Jury before his Lordships Justices there by whom &c. who Neither &c. And the Jurors of that Jury by John Dennis sher. of the County afd. to that Imp: :annelled to wit Levin Dashiell, Robt. Leatherbury, john Evans, Mathew Carmon, John Scot, James Tull, Isaac Dixson, Southy Whittington, Abraham Outen, Thomas Irving, George Day Scott & Charles Hall being Called Came to say the truth of the premisses being Elected tried and sworn upon their Oath say that the said William Cammell is not guilty of the premisses afd. In the Indictment afd. Above specified in manner And form as the said Wm. for himself Above by his plea hath Alledged upon which it is Considered by the Court here that the said Wm. of the premisses afd. in the Indict. afd. Above specified be Discharged and go without day &c.

Thereupon it is Commanded the sherriffe of Somerset County that he should take Edward Husk if he should be found in his Ballywick & him should safe keep so that he might have his Body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town |
