March Court 1760 4 Somerset County to wit Depositions of Witnesses Taken upon Three Tracts of Land Called Dickersons Folly Chance and Recovery or the Bounds of Any other Lands on Which the same may Depend In Somerset County the Day of In the year of our Appointed Lord God 1759 before us Josephas Bell and Samuel Adams Commissioners ^ by the Worshipfull the justices of Somerset County Court to Examine Evidences in Relation to the Bounds of three Tracts of Land in Somerset County Called Dickesons Folly Chance And Recovery and Any other Lands on Which the same may Depend and Being Quallified to Execute the same Commission and Notice given agreeable To Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided Somerset to wit The Deposition of Samll Marshall Aged fifty Six years or Thereabouts being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that about thirty nine years ago or thereabout Randalph Long & William Scott Both of Somerset County Deceased Shewed this Deponant A marked White Oak standing on the North East Corner of a Hammok Calld. ye Long Hammock Somerset to wit The Deposition of Capt. James Gunby aged Thirty four Years or there About being sworn on the Holy Evanglist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that About Eighteen years ago or there about that John Kellum Late of Somerset County Deceased And Littleton Townsend Deceased and Southy Whittington were at a marked gum re That had bin Lately blown down & all ag^ed the afd gum was the second Bounder of a Tract of Land Called Dickerson folley and allso John Killiam first Bounder of a Nother Tract of Land Taken up by the said Killiam & further this Deponant Saith Not To which place there was then set up a marked Sedar pole and now a marked Sasifris Marked post with sixteen marks which Post Stands about one hundred And seventy yards from a bridge over a Ditch that leads out of Kirks Creek to A Sevanah Commonly by the name of the Woods Ditch &c Somerset to wit The Deposition of Kirk Gunby Aged Fifty Six years or there about that being Sworn on the Holy Evanglist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows ^ about Forty Years agoe John Killum took up a Tract of Land Called Chance and Begun the Survey at the Second Bounder of A Tract of Land Called Dickeson folley And further this Deponant Sayth not Somerset to wit the Deposition of Benjamin Lankford aged fifty one Years or there About being Sworn on the Holy Evanglist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that near forty years agoe John Killum took up a Tract of Land Called Chance And they Begun the Survey at the Second Bounder of a Tract of Land Called Dickesons folley And this Deponant further Saith that the said John Killum Told him this Deponant the John afd gum was a Bounder of the Marsh that John Kirk gave to the said ^ Killum Wife & that there was Another Bounder of the said Marsh at the North end of the Hammock which is near to Ease Creek and that Littleton Townsend & John Killum had agreed to get Southy Whittington to run the Divisional Lines Between them & after they had run Some Lines disagreed and Quit their Survey & further this Deponant Sayth not August 15 Day 1759 Somerset to wit the Deposition of Thomas Marshall aged Forty Eight years or there abouts being sworn on the Holy Evanglist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that about thirty Seven years ago Randolph Long Late of Somerset County Deceased told & shewed this Deponant A marked scruby White Oak and told this Deponant that the said White oak was A bounder of the afd.
