Lycence to keep	in his proper person & Prays that he may be permitted to keep an Ordinary
Tavern	Or house of Entertainment in ye. County afd. at Princes Ann Town

for y^e. use & Conveniency of Travellers and Strangers as to y^m. Respectively Shall Seem meet
which is by y^e. Court hereunto him Granted he giveing Se^ry as y^e. Law Directs to keep good
Rules & orders in his Ordinary or house of Entertainment as af^d. &^c.
      Whereupon the Said Robert Downes together with Joseph Gilliss & William Pollit
of Somerset County gentlemen his Se^rs all present here in Court in their Propersons Acknowledged
Themselves Indebted unto his Lordship y^e. Right Hon^rble y^e. Lord Prop^ry of y^e. Province of
Maryland in thirty Pounds Current Money of said Province of their Bodies Goods or Chattles
Lands & Tenements Joyntly & Severally to y^e. Use of his Said Lordship his heirs & Successors to
be made & Levied if it happen that y^e. Said Robert Downes do not keep good rules & orders
& do suffer Idle Loose & disorderly Persons to Tipple game & Comitt disorders or other Irregularities
in his ordinary or house of Entertainment Contrary to y^e. true Intent & meaning of y^e. Act of
Assembly in Such Case made and provided & so forth

Memorandum that at a Court of his Lordship y^e. Right Hon^rble Frederick Absolute Lord & Prop^ry of
y^e. Provinces of Maryland & Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &^c. held at Princes Ann Town in and
for y^e. County of Somerset the third Tuesday of March being the Eighteenth day of y^e. Same Month
Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred & Sixty before Isaac Handy Esq^r. and these his
Associates Justices of y^e. same Court the peace in y^e. Same County to keep Assigned as also
to hear & Determine divers felonies trespasses and other Misdeeds in y^e. Same County Committed
by the Oath of Twelve honest & Lawfull Men of the County af^d. then & there Sworn and Charged

to Inquire ^of^ his said Lordship & the Body of the County af^d. ^ is prosecuted in manner following
