Cordwainer untill he the said Josiah Crocket should Arrive at y^e. age of Twenty One Years the
Said Josiah Crocket to Serve his Said Master the full term af^d. during which term the said
Apprentice his said Master well and faithfully Shall Serve his Secrets keep his Commandm^ts
Lawfully and honestly every where willingly he Shall doe and in all things as a good and
faithfull Apprentice he Shall Demean himself towards his said Master and all his
During the term aforesaid In Consideration of which Service the Said Nehemiah Crocket
Present here in Court in his proper person Covenanteth with the Justices of y^e. Same Court
in Court Judicially Sitting in manner and form following that is to Say that he the said
Nehemiah Crocket shall and will during the term af^d. Learn his said Apprentice the
Trade of a Cordwainer & to read write & Cypher as far as y^e. Rule of three Inclusive and at the
Expiration of his Servitude give him a new Suit of Cloaths over & above his Common wearing
Cloathing and likewise find and provide for his said Apprentice meat drink washing Lodging
& Cloathing Sufficient for Such & Apprentice to have & wear during y^e term aforesaid
Whereupon the said Nehemiah Crocket is ordered to give Se^rty for to Comply with the Covenants
af^d. thereupon the said Nehemiah Crocket together with William Robinson & W^m. Bounds of Somerset County Gen^t.
his Se^rtys all present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto y^e. aforesaid
Josiah Crocket in thirty Pounds Current Money of Maryland on their Bodies Goods or Chattles Lands and
Tenements Joyntly & Severally to y^e. use of y^e. said Josiah Crocket his Heirs & Assigns to be made &
Levied if it happen that the said Nehemiah Crocket do not during the term af^d. Learn his said
Apprentice the trade of a Cordwainer & to read write & Cypher as far as y^e. Rule of three
