   August Court         1760                 33
                                                                           in his Proper person
Whereupon the said John Williams present herein Court ^ is ordered to give Surty
for to Comply with the Covenants afd. Thereupon the said John Williams
together with Henry Waggaman & Sampson Wheatley of Somerset County Gentlemen his
Surtys all present here in Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted
unto ye. afd. William Stuart in thirty pounds Current money of Maryland on their
Bodies goods or Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly & Severally to ye. use of ye. said
Willaim Stuart his heirs and Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen that
the said John Williams do not during ye. term afd. Learn his said Apprentice the
trade of a Ship Carpinter and to Read write & Cypher as far as ye Rule of three
Inclusive and at the Expiration of his Servitude do not give him a Broad Ax, hand
Saw & Adz & a New Suit of Cloaths over and above his Common wearing Cloaths & do not
Likewise find & provide for his said Apprentice meat Drink Washing Lodging
& Cloathing Sufficient for Such an Apprentice to have and wear during
ye. term afd.


   Jessey Dickerson An Orphan above ye. age of fourteen Years
Jessey Dickerson    Came here into Court in his Proper person & prays that he may be
Choose    Permitted to Choose a Certain Benjamin Benson Late of Som
Benjn.    erset County Gentleman as his Guardian which is by ye. Court
Guardian    here unto him granted &c.
Thereupon ye. said Jessey Dickerson present here in Court as afd. made Choice of ye. afd. Benjn.
Benson As his guardian Accordingly    Whereupon ye. said Benjamin Benson is
Ordered by ye. Court here to take into his Care and Possession ye. afd. Jessey Dickerson and all
his Estate Real & Personal & further it is ordered that the afd. guardian give good
Surty to Comply with the Law in Relation to Such guardianship as afd. and do not to
Deliver up unto ye. afd. Orphan his Heirs Exrs. or Admrs. all his Estate Real & personal
that he Shall take into his hands and Possession peaceably & Quietly when ever ye. Same
should be Legally required &c.
Whereupon the Said Benjamin Benson together with Mathias Coston & Lodewick Milbourn
of Somerset County Gentlemen his Sertys all present here in Court in their proper persons Ackno:
:wledged themselves Indebted unto the said Jessey Dickerson in three Hundred pounds Current
Money of Maryland of their Bodies goods or Chattles Lands or Tenements Joyntly & Severally
to ye> use of ye. said Jessey Dickerson his Heirs or Assigns to be made and Levied if it happen
that the said Benjamin Benson guardian as afd. his Heirs Exrs. & Admrs. do not Comply
with the Law in Relation to such guardianship as afd. & do not deliver up unto the afd.
Jessey his Heirs Exrs. or Admrs. guardian or guardians all ye. Estate Real & personable
of ye. said Jessey Dickerson that he shall take into his hands & possession Peaceably &
Quietly whenever ye. same should be Legally Required &c.
