March Court 1760 2 Thirty first day of Jary 1756 This affirment being duly Examined affirmeth Testifieth And Declare that being in Company with a Certain John Waller on a hamock of Woods at the Mouth of Little Monigh Creek & Below the mouth of a creek called Little Creek the said Jno. Waller shewed this affirment a stump a little Below the said Hamock standing on or by an oyster shell Bank and Told this Affirment that it was one of the Bounders of A Tract of land or Marsh Taken by a Certain Benjmain Sasser the Lately Removed to North Caroliner & further saith not Robt. Downes Janry 31 1756 The Deposition of Geo. Irving Aged forty Two years or thereabouts being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth and saith that About sixteen or Eighteen years past he this Deponant was in Company with John Waller the Elder at the Mouth of Little Moneigh Creek on a place Called the Hammock & the afd. Jno. Waller shewed him this Deponant where a Bounder stood which ye afd. John Waller said was a Bounder of Wm. Sassers Land and Marsh the Bounder then decaid & gon Discribed to be about Eighteen yds. from the afd. Creek of Little Monigh & at the mouth End of the Island & further saith Not Geo. Irving Janry 24th 1756 The Deposition of Jno. Laws Senr. of Som. Coty aged Eighty years or there: :About being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth & Saith that this pine stump now in View formerly a Standing tree as he had bin Told by Sundry persons about forty years agoe was a Bounder of Jno. Panters Land the said stump stood to ye Southward of the Main Road where it now turns & where there is now fixed a marked Locust post with sixteen Notches and further saith Not Jno. Lawes Janry 24th 1756 Thomas Wallace of Somerset County aged thirty Eight years Or there abouts Being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that about ten or Twelve years past this Deponant Saith he was in Company with Robt. Lawes Senr. & the aforesaid Robt. Lawes told this Deponant that the stump now in View being a gum stump but then a standing Tree was the first Bounder of a Tract not of Land Called Something Worth & further saith ^ We Discribe the gum stump where there is now a narrow Leafe red oak Marked with sixteen Notches about two yards to the southwd. of ye said gum stump to stand in a Low swamp about west from the said Marsh of the from head of Little Creek & about forty five yards ^ the Marsh Side Thomas Wallace Febry 20th 1756 George Wallace of Dorchester County aged thirty six years or there about being Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Deposeth as follows that about ten or Eleven years Past his Uncle Robert Lawes Carried him this Deponant & severall others in Company & shewed him this Deponant a Marked gum then standing near the Head of Little Creek & told him this Deponant it was the first Bounder of Something Worth it being the same Place Discribed in the above Deposition of Thomas Wallace & further Saith not Geo. Wallace Febry 20 1756 Edward Roberts of Somerset County aged Sixty three years of there Abouts being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God Diposeth as follows that |
