A Small time after it ^ begun the first Course being run he hapned to get with
the Surveyor and those who were with him that he then undertook to be
One of the Chain Carryers and that after they had ran the Last Course
               home
Excepting ^ the Course which was not then run a Marked Live Oak was shewn
to him as the first Beginning of the afd. Tract of Land Called Chadwicks
Adventure & that it was Fresh marked and that a Marked Mulberry Post
                        in or
is now Set up ^ near the place where the afd. Oak grew, and further this
Deponant Saith not his

Advertisement thereof made agreeable to the Directions of mark
the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided we the subscribers two the
Commissioners within Mentioned met on the Land within mentioned and proceeded
to And did Execute within Commission as by the Deposition hereto Annexed doth

   Dashiell, Joseph Gillis and Arnold Elzey Junr. of Somerset County
Greeting know ye that we have appointed you or any three or two of you to be our Commissioners
to Examine Evidences on behalf of A Certain Wm. Saser of the County afd. In Relation to
the Bounds of three tracts of Land Called Rowde, Something Worth and Sassers Folly
We therefore Require You or any three or two of you at some time and place as to you or any
three or two of you shall seem Convenient you meet on the afd. Land called Rowde,
Something Worth and Sassers Folly you first having taken your Oaths on the Holy
Evangelist of Almighty God and then Cause to Come before you or any three or two
of you all such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you Nominated by
the Complainant or Deft. and that you or any three or two of you Examine them
upon their Corporal Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you Administred on the Holy
Evangelist of Almighty God in the presence of the Complainant or Deft. if Any Touching
the truth or Remembrance of their Knowledge or any thing that may Relate to the Cause
afd. and that Reducing severall Depositions into Writing you send the same with this
Our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands & seals to us to our
County Court at Somerset with all Convenient speed Witness Thomas Hayward Esqr.
Chief Justice of our said Court the Twenty fifth day of November in the fifth
year of our Dominion &c Anno Dom. one thousand seven hundred fifty & five
Att A Court of his Lordships held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom.
one thousand seven hundred & Sixty before the Justices thereof Came Joseph Gilliss, Geo.
Irving and Levin Dashiell Three of the Gentlemen Nominated in the within Commission
And Returned the Same Indorsed in manner following
Decr. 16th 1755 Then was the within mentioned George Irving & Levin Dashiell Duly

Quallified to Execute the within Commission ^ to the Power & Authority therein
Given them Agreeable to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in such Case
Provided                                  before me                  Ephm. Wilson
Janry 27th 1756 Then was the within mentioned Joseph Gilliss duly Quallified to
Execute the within Commission       before me            Ephm. Wilson
Maryland    The Affirmation of Robt. Downes Being on e of the People Called Quakers
Somt. County    Taken by us the Subscribers Commissioners appointed by the Worshipfull
the Justices of Somerset County to Examine Evidences to perpetuate the Bounds of
