Current Money of Maryland of their bodys, Goods or Chattles Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to
the Use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied if it happen that the Said Edward
Bennett do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County and the Inhabitants thereof from all
Costs Charges and Troubles that may Accrew by means of the birth of the bastard Child born of the Body of Catn.

The Same    Somerset to wit    Be it Remembred that George Hayward Gent Attorney of the Right Honrble
@    the Lord Propry that now is who for the Same Lord Propry in this part prosecuteth doth Come here into
Eliza. Bounds    the County Court of the Same Lord Propry held for Somerset County to wit at Princes Ann Town in the
Same County the XXI day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and Sixty three before Sampson Wheatly and
Others his Associates the Said Propry his Justices of the Same County Court and for the Same Lord Propry doth Give
the Same Justices here to Understand and be Informed that Elizabeth bounds Late of Stepney parish in the Said
County of Somerset the XXI day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred Sixty and three at
the parish afd. in the County afd. within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Commit Fornication with a Certain
person unknown and did permit the Same unknown to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a bastard Child
on the body of her the Said Elizabeth then and there did beget to the Great Displeasure of Almighty God to the
Evill Example of all others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his
Good Rule and Government And Against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and
So forth    And Whereupon the Same Attorney of the Said Lord Propry for the Same Lord Propry prays Advice of the
Court here in the premisses and that due process of Law in this part may be made Against the Said Elizabeth to
Answer of and upon the premisses and So forth
           Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take the Said Elizabeth
Bounds if &c. to Answer &c.    And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third
Tuesday of June Anno Dom. 1763 before the Justices thereof Came as well the afd. George Hayward Gent his
Lordships Attorney who for his Said Lordship in this part prosecuteth as the afd. Eliza. Bounds by in her proper
person and the Said Eliza. had a hearing of the Information afd Saith that She Cannot deny but that She is
Guilty of the Premisses in the Information afd. Mentioned above upon her Imposed in Manner and form as
by the Information afd. Above Against her Supposed and Maketh Oath that John Bounds is the father of the
child She Stands Informed Against for and is willing to pay her fine for the Same &c.
           Whereupon all and Singular the Premisses being Seen and by the Court here fully understood it
it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Eliza. Bounds for the offence afd. Specified be taken which Said
Eliza Bounds present here in Court in her Proper person is fined for the Offence afd. the Sum of thirty Shillings
Current Money which she paid here in Court to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c.

a Bastard Child on the Body of the Said Elizabeth then and there did Beget to the high displeasure of Almighty
God to the Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending Against the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is
his good Rule and Government and Against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and Provided
