June Court 1763 249 thousand seven hundred sixty and three with force and arms at the parish afsd: in the county afsd: in and up- -on a certain Robert Austin in the peace of God and the said Lord propry then and there being an assault did make and him the said Robert then and there did beat wound and Ill Treat so that of his Life it was much dispaired and other harms to him the said Robert then and there did to the great damage of the said Robert against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honble. the Lord propry that now is his good Rule and Government & so Forth Thereupon it is commanded the sheriff of Somerset County that he should take the afsd: Marcellus Hobbs if he should be found in his Bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before his Lordships Justices the Next Court to be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of June Anno Dom: one thousand seven hundred and sixty three to answer unto his said Lordship of and concerning the Indictment afsd: &c Att which day here came as well George Hayward Gent his Lordships Attorney who for his said Lordship in this part prosecuteth as the afsd: Marcellus Hobbs in his proper person and the afsd Marcellus had a hearing of the Indictment afsd: saith that he will not Contend with his Lordship but for the saveing costs trouble and Expence about the premises submits himself at fine with his said Lordship & puts himself upon favour of the court &c Whereupon all & Singular the premises being Seen & by the court fully understood it is considered that the afsd: Marcellus Hobbs for the offence afsd: above mentioned be taken &c Which said Marcellus Hobbs present here in court as afsd: is and six pence Current Money of Maryland which he paid to the sheriff for the use of his Lordship &c

Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Alley Wingate if She Should be found in his Bailywick and her Should Safe keep so that he might have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June Anno Dom. 1763 to Answer unto his Said Lordship of and Concerning the Presentment afd. Att which day here Came as well George Hayward Gent his Lordships Attorney who for his Said Lordship in this part prosecuteth as the afd. Alley Wingate in her proper person and Saith that She Cannot deny but that She is Guilty of the Premisses in the Presentment |
