Peace that now is &c and the same day is given to the afsd William Floyd here also &c
Att which day here came the afsd: William Floyd by George Hayward his Attorney & the sheriffe
to wit Ephraim Wilson now here returned that he had taken the afsd: William Tull whose
body here at this day he had ready to answer the afsd: William Floyd of the afsd: plea as to him
it was commanded &c
Whereupon the afsd: William Tull puts in his place Littleton Dennis Gent Attorney at
Law against the afsd William Floyd of the afsd plea
And hereupon at the prayer of the parties afsd day is to them now here given untill next Court
to be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of March then next following in the
state that now saveing to the parties afsd
Att which day here acme the parties afsd: by their Attorneys afsd: and hereupon the afsd Willi
-am Floyd complained against the afsd William Tull in the plea afsd. in form following
Somerset fst William Tull son of Noble Late of Somerset County planter was attached to
answer unto William Floyd of a plea wherefore with force and Arms in and upon him the
said William Floyd an assault did make and him the said William Floyd then and
there did beat wound and Evilly Treat so that of his Life it was greatly dispaired and
other harms to him the said William Floyd then and there did to the great damage of the said
William Floyd and against the peace of the Right Honrble the Lord propry that now is
his good Rule and Government &c         And Whereupon the said William
Floyd by Geo: Hayward his Attorney complains that whereas the said William Tull
the         day of         in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred sixty and
two at the county afsd with force and arms in and upon him the said William Floyd
an assault did make and him the said William Floyd then and there did beat wound
and Evilly Treat so that of his Life it was greatly dispaired and other harms to him the
said William Floyd then and there did to the great damage of the said William Floyd
and against the peace of his Lordship the Right Honble. the Lord propry that now is his
good rule & Government & So Forth to the damage of the said William Floyd Fifty
pounds Current: Money of Maryland and thereof he brings Suit &c
And the afsd William Tull by his Attorney afsd       J Doe & R Roe pledges &c
comes and defends the force and injury when &c and prays leave thereof to Imparle
here untill next Court to be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of June then
next following & he hath it and the same day is given to the afsd William Floyd here also &c
Att which day here came as well the afsd William Floyd as the afsd: William Tull by
their Attorneys afsd and hereupon the afsd William Tull as before defends the force and injury
when &c and saith that he cannot deny the action afsd of the afsd William Tull nor but
that he is guilty of the premises in manner and form as the afsd William Floyd above
against him hath complained and as to the damage of the same William Floyd by him by occasion of the premises in that
part sustained the same William Tull saith & acknowledgeth that the afsd William Floyd hath sustained damages
by occasion of the premises beyond his costs and charges by him about his suit in that part opposed to one penny
Curt: Money and not more and because the afsd William Floyd denies not this but the same allegation grants
To be True prays Judgement for these damages above acknoweldged together with his costs & charges to him to be adjudged &c
Therefore by consent of the parties afsd it is considered that the afsd William Floyd recover against the afsd William Tull
his damages afsd to the afsd: one penny Curt: Money by the afd William Tull in form afd acknowledged as also
250                                                    pounds of Tobacco for his costs and charges afsd: To the same to the same William
Floyd at his request by the court now here of the assent of the parties afsd: adjudged which certain damages in the whole amount
to one penny Curt: Money and                                          pounds of Tobacco and the afsd: William Tull in mercy &c
