Att which day here Came the afsd: George Dasheill by George Hayward his Attorney & the
sheriffe to wit Ephraim Willson now here returned that he had taken the afsd Thomas
Toadvine whose body here at this day he had ready to answer the afsd George Dasheill of the afsd
plea as to him it was commanded &c       And hereupon the afd: George Dasheill decla
red against the afsd: Thomas Toadvine in the plea afsd: in form following
Somerset fst Thomas Toadvine Late of Somerset County planter otherwise called Me Thomas Toad
-vine was summoned to answer unto George Dasheill Junr of a plea that he render to him the
sum of three pounds & three shillings Current money of Maryland which to him he owes
& unjustly detains and So Forth         And Whereupon the said George Dashiell by
George Hayward his Attorney says that whereas the said Thomas on the X day of March
Anno Dom. MDCCLXIII at the county afsd. by his bill obligatory sealed with the seal of the said
Thomas and to the court now here shewn the date whereof is the same day and year Acknowledged
himself to owe and be Indebted unto the said George Dasheill in the sum of three pounds & three
shillings Current Money of Maryland to be paid to the said George Dasheill when he the said
Thomas should be thereto afterwards required to which payment well & truly to be made and
done the said Thomas firmly bound himself by the said Bill Nevertheless the said Thomas
the said George Dasheill hath not paid but the same to him to pay hitherto altogether hath denied
and still doth deny & unjustly detain, Whereupon the said George Dasheill says he is worse & hath
damage to the value of ten pounds current Money of Maryland and thereof he brings Suit &
So Forth                                pledges &c J Doe & R Roe
Whereupon at the prayer of the afsd George Dasheill the afsd Thomas Toadvine is adjudged to give
special Bail to the action afsd              Thereupon a certain George Baily of Somerset County
present here in court in his proper undertook for the said Thomas Toadvine & assumed upon him
-self that if it should happen that Judgement in the plea afsd should be rendred for the
said George Dasheill against the afsd Thomas Toadvine or that the said Thomas should be
therein convict that then he the said Thomas Toadvine should pay and satisfy unto the afsd
George Dasheill the Judgement of the court thereupon or render his body in Execution of
such Judgement to the prison of the sheriffe of the county afsd in satisfaction thereof or that he
the said George Baily will do the same for him &c
And hereupon the afsd: Thomas Toadvine by Samuel Wilson his Attorney comes & defends
the force & injury when &c & says that he cannot deny the action afsd: of the afsd: George Dasheill
(nor but that the writing obligatory afsd: is the deed of him the said Thomas Toadvine) nor
but that he owes the afsd George the afsd: three pounds & three shillings in manner and form as
the afsd George above against him hath declared       Therefore it is considered that the afsd:
George Dasheill recover against the afsd: Thomas Toadvine his debt afsd: & his damages by occasion
182 1/2    of the Detention of that same Debt to                                                 pounds of Tobacco to the
same George of his assent by the court here adjudged & the afsd. Thomas in Mercy &c
                Stay till March Cot

@    Command was given to the sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take William
LD    William Tull    Tull Late of Somerset County planter if he should be found in his bailywick
& him should safe keep So that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships county
court of Somerset To be held at princess Ann Town the third tuesday of November Anno Domini
one thousand seven hundred and sixty Two to answer unto William Floyd of a plea wherefore with
force and arms in and upon him the said William Floyd an assault did make and him the said William
Floyd then and there did beat wound and Evilly Treat so that of his Life it was greatly dispaired and
other Harms to him the said William Floyd then and there did to the great damage of the said William Floyd and against the
