SW	Samuel Wilkins	Command was given to y^e> sherriffe of Somerset County
	v^s	that he should take John Covington Late of Somerset Co^ty.
WH	John Covington	Planter Otherwise Called I John Covington of Somerset County

& province of Maryland if he should be found in his Bailywick & him should safe
keep so that he might have his Body before y^e. Justices of his Lordships County Cou^t.
of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town y^e. third Tuesday of March Anno Dom.
One thousand seven hundred & Sixty to Answer unto Samuel Wilkins of a
plea that he render him y^e. sum of fourteen pounds fourteen shillings & ten pence
Current Money of Maryland which to him he owes & unjustly Detains &^c.
And the same day is given to y^e af^d. Samuell here &^c
Att which day here y^e. af^d. Samuel Wilkins by Samuel Wilson his Att^y &
y^e. sherriffe to wit John Dennis Gent. now here returned that he had taken y^e. af^d.
John Covington whose body here at this day he had ready to Answer y^e. af^d.
Samuel Wilkins of y^e. af^d. Plea as to him it was Commanded
Whereupon y^e. said John Covington at y^e. Prayer of y^e. af^d. Samuel Wilkins is adj^d.
to give Special Bail to y^e. Action af^d.
Thereupon a Certain Levin Ballard of Som^t.
County gentleman Present here in Court in his proper person undertook for y^e.
said John Covington that if it should happen that judgment in y^e. plea af^d. should
be rendered for y^e. said Samuell against y^e af^d. John Covington or that he the
said John should be therein Convict that then he the said John should pay and
satisfie unto y^e af^d. Samuell the judgment of y^e. Court thereupon or render his
Body in Execution of such judgment to y^e. Prison of y^e. sherriffe of y^e. County
af^d. in satisfaction thereof or that he the said Levin Ballard will do y^e same
for him &^c.
Whereupon y^e. said John Covington puts in his place W^m. Hayward Gent. Att^y at
Law a^gt. y^e. af^d. Sam^ll. Wilkins in y^e. af^d. plea
And thereupon at y^e. Prayer of y^e. Parties af^d. day is to them here now given untill
next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town y^e third Tuesday of June then next foll^g
in y^e. state that now saving to y^e. Parties af^d.
Att which day here Came y^e. Parties af^d. by their Att^ys af^d. And hereupon y^e. said
Samuell Wilkins Declaired against y^e. af^d. John Covington in y^e. plea af^d. in
form following
Somerset fs^t John Covington Late of Somerset County planter otherwise Called
I John Covington of y^e. County of Somerset & province of Maryland was summ^d.
to Answer unto Samuel Wilkins of a plea that he render him y^e. sum of
fourteen pounds fourteen shillings & ten pence Current money of Maryland which
to him he owes & unjustly Detains & so forth
And Whereupon y^e. said Samuel Wilkins by Samuel Wilson his Att^y
says that Whereas y^e said John on y^e. fifteenth Day of February in y^e. year
of our Lord seventeen hundred & sixty at y^e. County af^d. by his Certain
