22d of December 1761 Levin Wilson & Stephen Horsey were Quallifyed upon the within Commission agreea
-ble to an act of assembly in Such case made & provided    Before    Th Jones
Maryland Somerset County fst We the subscribers do hereby certify that the depositions hereto annex'd
was duly taken as by the within commission to us directed as witness our Hands & Seals this 17th
Day of March Anno Dom. 1763    Levin Wilson {Seal}
The deposition of Ben Sharpe aged Eighty three years or thereabouts    Stephen Horsey {Seal}
being Sworn on the holy Evangels of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith That in August one thousand
Seven hundred and Twenty Four Richard Waters agreed with this deponent to build a Vessell and the
said Richard gone over the Bay and this Deponent applied to William Waters father to the present
Richard Waters where he must Cut the Timber least he this deponant should cut timber upon
other persons Land for the said Vessell and the afd William Waters brought this deponant along
To Halls Creek and as this deponant & the said William Waters was going on Food across the said
Creek this deponant asked the aforesaid William what place this was and the said William
Told him it was the Head of Hall's Creek and this deponant and the said William Crossed the said
Creek from a small pine with a slipe on Each Side Standing on the Eastermost Side of the said
Creek twelve Yards To the Northward or Southward of the afsd Pine or there abouts and further this
Deponant Saith not as witness my hand this 10th day of February Anno Dom. 1762    Ben Sharpe
The Deposition of Mary Sharpe aged Seventy Seven Years or there abouts being Sworn on the holy Evangels
of Almighty God Deposeth & Saith that about Forty or Fifty years agoe that a small distance below
the pine mentioned in Ben. Sharp's deposition this deponent used to cross over Halls Creek on a small
Bridge the gut was about two or three Steps wide and there was a Crotch'd Fence went across
the said Creek about Twenty yards above the said Bridge which this deponant allowed was
the Head of Halls Creek and this deponant Further Saith that there was a horse Road which
people used To call going Round the Head of Hall's Creek which this deponant did not allow to
be the Head of the Creek afsd and further Saith not as witness my hand the day & year afd Mary Sharpe
The Deposition of William Walston aged fifty Seven Years or thereabouts being Sworn on the holy
Evangels of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith that about Ten yards below the Sliped Pine
mentioned in Ben Sharpes deposition there was an old tree across the Gut which used to
be the going Over place and was allways called going over the Head of Halls Creek and
the afsd Gut was about Five feet wide and further this deponant Saith that the drean into
the afsd Gut went about one hundred and fifty yards above the old tree that was across the
said Gut and further this deponant Saith not as witness my hand this 10th Day of February Anno
Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two                William Walstone
The Deposition of Mary McClaine aged fifty two Years or thereabouts being Sworn on the holy Evangels
of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith That about Twenty one Years past this deponant Saith there was
a Fence Run across the said Creek from the pine mentioned in the afsd Deposition to Inclose a Pas
-ture and where the fence went across the said Creek it was allways Called the Head of Hall's Creek and
this deponant further Saith that she has rode Sundry Times across the said Gut about thirty
yards above where the said fence Crossed and further this deponant Saith not as witness my hand

The deposition of Samuel Tull aged within one day of fifty Six Years being First Sworn on the
holy Evangels of Almighty God Deposeth and Saith that Ever Since he has been Able To Ride
our and goe about he was acquainted with Halls Creek and that a Road went down the Neck through
a place above the Head of the Creek that the said Roach went through a low slow over a hill in the
