mentioned be taken &c which said Jonathan Cluff present here in Court as afd is fined the sum of thirty shill
-ings Curt Money for the offence afd but hath not any thing to pay the same withall but is willing to give
Securty for the same according to act of assembly Thereupon the said Jonathan Cluff Together with Wm. Hayward
Gent his Securty both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his
Lordship the Lord propry in three pounds Curt Money of their bodies Goods or Chattels Lands & Tenements
Joyntly & Severally To the use of his Lordship His heirs and Successors to be made & levied if it happen
that Jonathan Cluff do not pay to the Justices of Somerset County Court on or before the Eighteenth day
of March Anno Dom 1764 The sum of thirty shillings Curt Money for his fine afd &c
Whereupon the said Jonathan Cluff is ordered to give Security To Save & keep Indemnified the Justices of So
-merset County Court from all Costs charges & Troubles which might accrew by means of the birth of the bas
-tard child afd Thereupon a certain William Hayward present here in court in his proper person undertook
for the said Jonathan Cluff & acknowledged himself to be held & firmly bound unto his Lordship the Lord propry
in thirty pounds Curt Money of Maryland of his body Goods & Chattles Lands & Tenements to be made and
levied to the use of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors if it happen that Jonathan Cluff do not Save &
keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges & charges & Troubles which may
accrew by means of the Birth of the Bastard Child Afd

@    Somerset To wit the Jurors for his Lordship the Right Honble the Lord propry that now is for the bo

Naboth Taylor    -dy of Somerset County upon their oath present that Naboth Taylor Late of Coventry parish in
the county afd planter the XXX Day of Novr in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred Sixty & one at
the parish afd in the county afd did Commit Fornication with a certain Esther Sterling and a bastard child on
the body of her the said Esther then & there did beget to the High Displeasure of Almighty God the Evil Exam
-ple of all others in Such Case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord propry that now is his good Rule & Govern
-ment & against the form of the act of assembly in Such Case made and provided & So forth
   Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the Said
Naboth Taylor if &c. to Answer &c
           And now to witt at a Court of his Lordship held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday
of March being the fifteenth day of the Same Month Anno Dom. 1763 before the Justices
thereof Came the afd Naboth Taylor in his proper person According to a Certain Recognizance by
him and his Security in that part before Acknowledged and had a hearing of the Indictment afd Saith
that he Cannot deny but that he is Guilty of the Premisses afd in the Indictment afd upon him Impo
-sed in manner & form as by the Indictment afd above against him supposed &c         Whereupon all and Singu[lar]
the premises being Seen & by the court fully understood it is considered that the afd Naboth Taylor for the offence
afd in the Indictment afd mentioned be taken &c            Which said Naboth Taylor present here in court as afd
is fined the sum of thirty shillings Curt Money for the offence afd which he paid To the sheriff for the use of the county &c
Whereupon the said Naboth Taylor is ordered To give Security To save & keep Indemnified the Justices of
Somerset County Court from all Costs charges & Troubles which may accrue by means of the birth of the bastard
-child afd         Thereupon a certain George Howard present here in Court in his proper person undertook
for the said Naboth Taylor and acknowledged himself to be held & firmly bound unto his Lordship the Lord propry
in thirty pounds Curt Money of Maryland of his body Goods & Chattels Lands & Tenements To be made & levied to
the use of his Lordship his heirs & successors to be made & levied if it happen that the afd Naboth Taylor do
not Save & keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County court from all Costs charges and Troubles which
may accrue by means of the birth of the Bastard child afd
