	@	Command was given To the sheriff of Somerset County that he should take John Records Late of So
SW	John Records	merset County planter if he should be found in His Bailywick and him should Safe keep

So that he might have his body before the Justices of His Lordships County Court of Somerset To be held at
princess Ann Town the third tuesday of August Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred & Sixty two To
answer unto Robert M^cCra of a plea of trespass upon the case &^c & the same day is given to the af^d Robert here also &^c
Att which day here came the af^d Robert M^cCra by Josiah Polk his Attorney and the sheriff To wit
Ephraim Wilson now here returned that he had taken the af^d John Records whose body here at
this day he had ready to answer the af^d Robert M^cCra of the af^d plea as to him it was commanded &^c
Whereupon the af^d John Records at the prayer of the af^d Robert M^cCra is adjudged to give Special Bail to
the action af^d              Whereupon a certain George Baily present here in court in His proper
Person undertook for the said John Records and assumed upon himself that if it should happen
that Judgement in the plea af^d should be Rendred for the said Robert M^cCra against the af^d John Records

or that he the Said John should be therein Convict that then he ^ should pay and Satisfy unto the
af^d Robert the Judgement of the Court thereupon or Render his Body in Execution of Such Judge
                                                                         in Satisfaction thereof
-ment To the prison of the sheriff of the county af^d ^ or that he the said George Baily will do the same for him &^c
And Hereupon the af^d John Records puts in his place Samuel Wilson Gen^t Attorney at Law against the af^d Robert M^cCra of the af^d plea
And Hereupon at the prayer of the parties af^d day is to them now here given untill Next Court To be held at princess Ann Town the
third tuesday of Novemb^r. Then next following in the state that now Saveing to the parties af^d &^c.
Att which Day here came the parties af^d by their Attorneys af^d and hereupon the af^d Robert M^cCra complained

against the af^d ^ in the plea af^d in form following
Somerset To wit John Records Late of Somerset County planter was attached To answer unto Robert M^cCrea of a plea of Trespass
upon the case &^c. And Whereupon the said Robert by Josiah Polk his Attorney complains that whereas the said
John on the Forth day of May Anno Dom. MDCCLIV at the county af^d was Indebted unto the said Robert in the sum of
Seven pounds Current money of Maryland for the articles in the account hereto annexed mentioned and So thereof In
debted being the said John in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year af^d at the county af^d upon him
-self did assume and to the said Robert then and there faithfully promise that he the said John when he should be there
-to afterwards required the sum of Money af^d To the af^d Robert he would faithfully pay and Content Nevertheless the
said John his promise and assumption af^d in form af^d made not Regarding the sum of Money af^d To the af^d Robert he
hath not paid nor him for the same in any Sort Contented but the same To him to pay altogether hath refused and
Still doth refuse altho the same to do afterwards to wit the day and Year af^d at the county af^d and often since that
Time by the said Robert Required To the Damage of the said Robert thirty pounds current money of Maryland
