Safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at
Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of March Anno Dom. 1762 to Answer unto Stephen Mills Assignee of
                                                     Case
According to Act of Assembly in Such ^ Provided of Samuel Adams of A plea that he Render him the full and Just Sum
of Twenty One pound Cur^t Money of Maryland which to him he Owes and unjustly detains &^c. And the Same day is
given to the af^d. Stephen here &^c.    att which day here Came the af^d. Stephen Mills Assignee af^d. by his Attorney
af^d. And the Sheriff to witt Ephraim Wilson now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. James Lawless whose body
here at this day he had Ready to Answer the af^d. Stephen Mills of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
             Whereupon the Said James Lawless at the prayer of the af^d. Stephen Mills is Adjudged
to Give Special Bail to the Action af^d. Thereupon a Certain Sam^l. Wilson of Somerset County Gen^t present here in
Court in his proper person undertook for the Said Stephen Mi James Lawless and Assumed upon himself that
if it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should be Rendred for the Said Stephen Mills Against the
af^d. James Lawless or that he the Said James Should be therein Convict that then he the Said James Should
pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. Stephen the Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in Execution of
Such Judgment to the prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said Sam^l Wilson
will do the Same for him &^c       Whereupon the Said James Lawless puts in his place Samuel Wilson Gen^t Att^y
at Law Against the af^d. Stephen Mills in the af^d. plea       And thereupon at the prayer of the parties af^d. day is to them
now here Given untill next Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of June then next following
in the State that now Saveing to the parties af^d. &^c
           Att which day here Came the parties af^d. by their Attorneys af^d. And thereupon Sam^l. Wilson Speciall
Bail of the af^d. James prays that for his Indemnity he may be discharged of and from his Manucaption and Bail piece
Entred into fo rthe Said James Whereupon the Said Samuel of his Manucaption and Bail piece af^d. is discharged &^c.
Thereupon Came here into Court a Certain Joseph Dashiell of Somerset County Gen^t and undertook for the Said
James Lawless and Assumed upon himself that if it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should
be Rendred for the Said Mills Against the af^d. Lawless or that he the Said Lawless Should be therein Convict
that then he the Said Lawless Should pay and Satisfie unto the af^d. Mills the Judgment of the Court thereupon
or Render his body in Execution of Such Judgment to the prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction
thereof or that he the Said Joseph Dashiell will do the Same for him &^c
      Whereupon the Said Mills declared Against the af^d. Lawless in the plea af^d. in form following Viz^t
