Person to have Carnal knowledge of her body and a Bastard Child on the body of her the Said Leah then and there did beget to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the Evil Example of all Others in Such Case Offending Contrary to the peace of the Said Lord Propry that now is his Good Rule and Government And Against the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and So forth Thereupon it is Commanded the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should Take the Said Leah Sumners if She Should be found in his Bailywick and her Should Safe keep so that he might have her body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two to Answer unto his Lordship of and Concerning the Indictment afd. &c Att which day here Came as well George Hayward Gent his Lordships Atty as the afd. Leah Sumners in her proper person and thereupon the Said Leah had a hearing of the Indictment afd. Saith that She Cannot deny but that She is Guilty of the premisses in the Indictment afd. Above upon her Imposed in Manner and form as by the Indictment afd. Above Against her Supposed and is Willing to pay her fine for the Same but is not Willing to declare the father &c. Whereupon all and Singular the premisses being Seen and by the Court fully understood it is Considered by the Court here that the afd. Leah Sumners for the Offence afd. in the Indictment afd. Mentioned be taken &c Which Said Leah Sumners present here in Court as afd. is fined the Sum of Three pounds Curt Money which She paid to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c Whereupon the Said Leah Sumners is Ordered to Give Security to Save keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and Troubles that might Accrew by means of the birth of the Bastard Child afd. Thereupon a Certain Charles Ford of Somerset County planter present here in Court in his proper person undertook for the Said Leah Sumners and Acknowledged himself to be held and firmly bound to his Lordship the Lord Propry in Twenty Pounds Curt Money of his body Goods and Chattles Lands and tenements to be made and Levied to the use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors if it happen that the Said Leah Sumners do not Save and keep Indemnified the Justices of Somerset County Court from all Costs Charges and Troubles that may Accrew by Means of the birth of the bastard Child afd. &c

Mary Noble for the premisses and Offence afd. in the Indictment afd. Specified be taken &c. Which Said Mary Noble present here in Court as afd. is fined for the Offence afd. the Sum of Thirty Shillings Curt Money which she paid to the Sheriff for the use of the County &c
