Err^s Excepted p^r Mich Taylor
   And the af^d. Brittan Powell by his Attorney af^d. Comes and defends the force and Injury when &^c. And Saith that he
Cannot deny the Action af^d. of the af^d. Michael Taylor nor but that he did Assume upon himself in Manner and form as the
af^d. Michael Above Against him hath Complained and as to the damage of the Same Michael by him by Occasion of the
Premisses ~~beyond his Costs and Charges by him About his Suit~~ in that part Sustained the Same Brittain Saith and Acknowledgeth
that the af^d. Michael hath Sustained Damages by Occasion of the Premisses beyond his Costs and Charges by him about his
Suit in that part Apposed to Twenty Nine pound Seven Shillings and four pence Cur^t Money and not More and because the af^d.
Michael denys not this but the Same Allegation Grants to be true prays Judgment for those Damages Above Acknowledged
together with his Costs and Charges af^d. to him to be Adjudged &^c
           Therefore by Consent of the parties af^d. it is Considered that the af^d. Michael Taylor Recover Against the
af^d. Brittan Powell his Damages af^d. to the af^d. Twenty Nine pound Seven Shillings and four pence Cur^t Money by the Same
309    Brittan in form af^d. Acknowledged as also:                                                         Pounds of Tobacco for his Costs
And Charges af^d. to the Same Michael at his Request by the Court now here of the Assent of the parties af^d. Adjudged
Which Certain Damages in the Whole Amount to Twenty Nine pound Seven Shillings and four pence Cur^t Money and
                                                             Pounds of Tobacco and the af^d. Brittan in Mercy &^c.

@    Command was Given to the Sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take Solomon Puckam

WH    Sol: Pockam &NBSP;&NBSP; Late of Somerset County Planter if he Should be found in his Bailywick and him Should Safe keep so

that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at Princes Ann Town
the third Tuesday of June Anno Dom. one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Two to Answer unto Wilson Hath of A plea
of trespass upon the Case &^c.    And the Same day is Given to the af^d. Wilson here &^c
           Att which day here Came the af^d. Wilson Hath by Sam^l. Wilson his Attorney and the Sheriff to witt
Ephraim Wilson now here Returned that he had taken the af^d. Solomon Pockam whose body here at this day he had
Ready to Answer the af^d. Wilson Hath of the af^d. plea as to him it was Commanded
           Whereupon the Said Solomon Pockam at the prayer of the af^d. Wilson Hath is Adjudged to
give Special Bail to the Action af^d. Thereupon a Certain Robert Hopkins of Somerset County planter present
here in Court in his proper person undertook for the Said Solomon Pockam and Assumed upon himself that if
it Should happen that Judgment in the plea af^d. Should be Rendred for the Said Wilson Ag^t the af^d. Solomon or
that he the Said Solomon Should be therein Convict that then he the Said Solomon Should pay and Satisfie
unto the af^d. Wilson the Judgment of the Court thereupon or Render his body in Execution of Such Judgment
to the Prison of the Sheriff of the County af^d. in Satisfaction thereof or that he the Said Robert Hopkins will
do the Same for him &^c       Whereupon the Said Solomon Pockam puts in his place William Hayward Gen^t Att^y
at Law Against the af^d. Wilson Hath of the af^d. plea
                And thereupon at the prayer of the parties af^d. day is to them now here Given untill next
Court to be held at Princes Ann Town the third Tuesday of August then next following in the State that now
Saveing to the parties af^d.       Att which day here Came the parties af^d. by their Attorneys af^d. And hereupon the
Said Wilson Complained Against the af^d. Solomon in the plea af^d. in form following
Somerset fs^t Solomon Puckam Late of Somerset County Planter was Attached to Answer unto Wilson
